EPD Successfully Conducts Closing Ceremony of 4th Taekwondo Summer Sports Program CY 2026
The Eastern Police District (EPD), under the supervision of PBGEN Melecio M Buslig, Jr., Officer-In-Charge, EPD, successfully conducted the Closing Ceremony of the 4th EPD Taekwondo Summer Sports Program CY 2026 at approximately 10:00 AM on June 3, 2026, at the EPD Multi-Purpose Hall, Caruncho Avenue, Barangay Malinao, Pasig City.
The event was graced by PMGEN Roberto B Fajardo (Ret.), Deputy of the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC), who served as the Guest of Honor and Speaker. Also present during the activity were PCOL Ireneo B Dalogdog, Acting DDDA, and PCOL Arthur A Salida, OIC, CDDS, AC, DPRMD, and Chief, Training Section, DPRMD.
A total of 148 Taekwondo students from Pasig, Mandaluyong, Marikina, and San Juan City Police Stations (PaMaMariSan CPS) and District Headquarters (DHQ) successfully completed and graduated from the program, which was conducted from April 10, 2026 to June 3, 2026 in their respective headquarters.
One of the highlights of the ceremony was the Taekwondo skills demonstration performed by the students from Mandaluyong and Marikina City Police Stations, showcasing the techniques, discipline, and skills they acquired throughout the training program. This was followed by the presentation of Leadership Awards and the awarding of Certificates of Participation and Completion to the graduates. Certificates of Commendation were likewise presented to the instructors and coaches in recognition of their invaluable contributions to the success of the program.
In his message, PMGEN Fajardo (Ret.) emphasized the importance of sports programs in developing perseverance, discipline, self-confidence, and sportsmanship among the youth. He encouraged the participants to become responsible citizens and advocates in the campaign against illegal drugs and terrorism, embodying the role of “Bida Kontra Droga at Terorismo.”
The activity likewise highlighted that the Taekwondo Summer Sports Program was specifically designed for the dependents of EPD personnel as part of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Focused Agenda under the Morale and Welfare Program. The initiative aims to promote the physical, mental, and social well-being of police personnel's families while fostering values formation, discipline, and community engagement among the youth.
The successful conduct of the 4th EPD Taekwondo Summer Sports Program reflects EPD's continued commitment to supporting the welfare of its personnel and their families through meaningful developmental and recreational activities.
