EPD's Muslim Community Engagement
In line with its continuous efforts to strengthen community relations and promote inclusive public safety programs, the Eastern Police District, under the strong and dedicated leadership of PBGEN ADEN T LAGRADANTE, District Director, successfully conducted a Muslim Community Engagement Activity on July 28, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Mariposa Old Building, Barangay Palatiw, Pasig City. This is in furtherance with the 30th Police Community Relations Month Celebration 2025 with the theme:"Sa Bagong Pilipinas, Ang Gusto ng Pulis, Ligtas Ka!.
The activity was spearheaded by the District Community Affairs and Development Division (DCADD), led by PLTCOL VINBOY M PACAMARRA, and carried out under the close supervision of PCOL CELERINO M. SACRO, JR., Chief, DCADD. This initiative is part of the EPD’s sustained efforts to build trust and foster mutual respect between the police force and the diverse cultural communities within its jurisdiction.
A total of 100 participants from the Muslim community attended the engagement, including community leaders, elders, women, and youth representatives. The program aimed to establish open communication lines, encourage proactive dialogue, and promote a shared commitment to peace, order, and community development.
Anent this, Key topics discussed during the activity included were; Community safety and crime prevention, Religious and cultural sensitivity in law enforcement operations, Strengthening cooperation during emergencies and disasters, Opportunities for livelihood, education, and youth empowerment, and Mechanisms for grievance redress and access to police services.
The engagement served not only as a platform for sharing concerns and suggestions but also as an opportunity for the EPD to reaffirm its dedication to inclusive policing, where no community is left behind. The interaction was marked by a spirit of unity, cooperation, and understanding, laying a solid foundation for future partnerships between the Muslim community and the local police.
This initiative aligns with the PNP's community policing framework and the EPD’s continued commitment to proactive, culturally respectful, and community-centered policing.
