JUANFLIX PRESENTS “BABAE SA PELIKULA” FILM TALKS. As we celebrate the International Women’s Month, JuanFlix and FDCP Cinematheque Centres are inviting you to a free Film Talk which will tackle the challenges women face and how films serve as a medium in shedding light on issues, particularly in opposing gender-based violence.

The panel, composed of filmmakers Anne Prado-Magadia and Celina Mae Medina with multi-awarded actress Ruby Ruiz, will be moderated by Daphne Chiu, president and COO of TBA Studios.

The Film Talks at 5 PM comes after the FREE SCREENINGS featuring two films that highlight the significance of film in advocating for women’s rights. Catch these films in all Cinematheque Centres nationwide on the following schedules:

1:00 PM — “VERDICT” directed by Raymund Ribay Gutierrez
3:30 PM — “WORKING WOMAN” directed by Michal Aviad

“Babae sa Pelikula” is presented by the FDCP in partnership with the Embassy of Israel in the Philippines and the Philippine Commission on Women and is supported by Center Stage Productions.

CALL FOR JUNIOR HIGH, SENIOR HIGH, AND SPECIAL PROGRAM IN THE ARTS (SPA) TEACHERS. In line with the ongoing Unsung Sariling Bayani (USB) Short Film Competition, National Artist for Film and Broadcast Arts Kidlat Tahimik will be holding an online forum on August 13 from 10 AM to 12 NN via Zoom.

With the goal to provide a briefing on the short film competition and how teachers can provide coaching and mentoring for their students, Kidlat Tahimik is encouraging SPA, Junior High, and Senior High teachers to attend the forum.
