Exactly one year ago today, in June 2020 - President Rodrigo Roa Duterte drove down memory lane during his trip to Trece Martires in Cavite. He suddenly ordered the convoy to make an unceremonious stop when he saw people lining up the streets, clapping/ waving their hands and shouting 'Du-ter-te...Du-ter-te!
Despite the pandemic, the residents came out of their houses to have a glimpse of their idol and brought out their cameras to take a snapshot of a political superstar.
Then lo and behold! Pandemonium broke loose as the President disembarked from his vehicle with a big smile on his face. Waving his hand, he walked along a dirt, muddy and bushy portion of a lot just to get closer to a crowd of well-wishers.
This is testament to his amazing popularity over the years. Indeed the Pulse Asia survey was absolutely true. Ninety two percent of Filipinos still love him and consider him their hero.
Today, his critics are panicking in the midst of reports that he might run again next year for vice president. They cannot accept that and they'll move heaven and earth to disqualify him.
Why? Because the Opposition knows that if he can't be stopped from running, he will surely win ! 🤛👊🤜
