Little Kusoge Boi Number 3 π
Specs:
ECS H81H3-M4 motherboard
Core i5 4440
8GB ddr3 1600 RAM
GT 1030 low profile
Build story:
I've had this Silverstone SG13 case for a number of years now which I wanted to re-use.
One of the 4th gen i5 machines here had a faulty motherboard.
I found a good deal on a Mini-DTX motherboard which the SG13 supports- ECS H81H3-M4.
Motherboard was tagged as faulty, only RAM slot was supposed to be working
When I first got the motherboard it booted up no probs while testing, and also had two working ram slots and PCIE slot.
When I began building in the case... for some reason it failed to power on, I thought I messed up the board because during mounting because part of the top corner had some damage. I felt like a complete du***ss for "ruining" the board. I put it aside, removing the RAM sticks and GPU.
Then miraculously today it booted up when I tried to test it again... complely stumped...
And then it happened again... refused to boot when I changed the CMOS battery for some weird reason...
Pop out ram sticks, pop em back in and voila, it now boots!
2 slot GPU won't fit in the case because the PCIe 1x slot is on top, if it were low the 16x slot I could use other GPUs...
USB3 front post not working because the mobo has no USB3 headers
What a totally nuanced build experience π
Thinking if I should drop in the i7 4770 here and throw in a PCIe wifi card and test if this can still do 1080p streaming.
