007 First Light — Early Impressions

The gameplay reveal already flagged a concern: NPC character models are generic and visually repetitive. Getting hands-on confirmed it, plus a few additional issues.

The Moneypenny staircase es**rt sequence has a noticeably rushed walk cycle — it reads as unfinished. Mirror reflections trigger pop-in and white flashes. On base PS5 in Quality Mode, combat stutters, though it’s unclear whether that’s a performance issue or the game’s built-in progression loop of starting the player deliberately underpowered. Either way, parrying and dodging at 30 FPS feels unresponsive and punishing.

Three hours in, the training montage mission structure is working. The Bond framing earns it some patience — but the technical rough edges are hard to ignore at launch.

Definitely enjoying the game so far and will get my 00 status!
