𝐍𝐄𝐖𝐒 𝐅𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄 | MSU - Sulu Senior High School Department Holds 8th Commencement Exercises
Last June 4, 2025, the Mindanao State University - Sulu Senior High School Department held its 8th Commencement Exercises at the MSU-Sulu Multi-purpose Gymnasium.
The ceremony commenced at 8:30 a.m. with a processional, followed by an invocation led by Mr. Mahmoudhar J. Hassan, MAED, Director for Auxiliary and Services.
Shortly after, the program continued with the singing of the Philippine National Anthem and the MSU-Sulu Hymn. Following the singing, Khalid H. Mama, a With High Honors graduate, delivered the welcome address.
Dr. Norman A. Abdurahman, Director of MSU-Sulu SHS and Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, formally presented the candidates for graduation. OIC SDS Dolores B. Gonzalo, Acting Assistant Schools Division Superintendent and Chief of Curriculum and Instruction Division, stood in the stead of Dr. Kiram I. Irilis, Superintendent of MBHTE-Sulu, and conferred the graduates, officially affirming their completion of the senior high school program.
Thereafter, Jihaifa A. Ajid, RN, a faculty member of MSU-Sulu College of Health Sciences, served as the commencement speaker and delivered an inspiring address. Afterwards, the graduates' achievements were recognized through the distribution of academic awards and special awards by Dr. Abdurahman.
Nurennor J. Balahuddin, the With Highest Honor graduate, delivered the Address of Thanks, while Alleah Celissa J. Hadjiri, a With High Honors graduate, led the Pledge of Loyalty.
Guests who were also present during the event included Mrs. Ahadiya U. Said, Division Filipino Alternate Coordinator; Mr. Jeffrexon R. Lim, Representative of the MSU-Sulu LHS Principal; Prof. Ajid M. Sari, OIC Chancellor and Director for Integrated Science Laboratory; Prof. Al-Gajar M. Sarahadil, Director for Student Affairs; and Prof. Abdulhan N. Jannaral, Gazette Adviser.
Additionally, a total of 996 students completed their Senior Highschool journey with an outstanding amount of 252 students who graduated with flying colors. One (1) With Highest Honors from Science Technology Engineering Mathematics (STEM) Strand: A total of 34 With High Honors, 30 from STEM Strand and Four (4) from the General Academic Strand: And 216 students who made it to the honors — 149 students from STEM and 68 students from General Academic Strand.
The event marked the culmination of the senior high school journey for the graduates. Ms. Dermayna Jamar and Ms. Arniza J. Kiram were the masters of ceremony.
