ππ‘ π£ππ’π§π’π¦ | PJTS 2026 Day 2: Sharpening Pens, Discerning Truth
Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Journ Talk Series 2026 College Edition commenced on September 24 to which The Bridge Publication participated.
The second day of the PJTS kicked off with an introduction to Editorial Writing and Column Writing, discussed by the first resource speaker and Political Sociology Specialist Sociologist, Artchil B. Fernandez, emphasizing the key difference between the two after teaching the basics of Editorial and Column Writing.
βFacts are important. Evidence is important. But make sure that evidence is real,β Sir Fernandez said.
Former Editor of The Central Echo and researcher Prof. Allen V. Del Carmen was the third resource speaker. He elaborated the basics of copyreading and headlining, and reminds the use of AP style in terms of copyreading.
Rene Ransom Agui, a Christian, digital marketing consultant, and previously editorial cartoonist, emphasized the importance of the message of the artwork than the drawing skills of the artist in terms of Editorial Cartooning.
Lastly, Cpt. Niel P. LagaΓ±a (INF) PA discussed the Influence Operations: Deceptive Recruitment Mechanism and taught journalists the proper discernment of deceptive recruitment.
Day 2 ended with the distribution of attendance, evaluation and the activities for the discussed categories.
