𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐋𝐈𝐄𝐑 | 𝟐𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐓𝐀 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐥𝐲

The 2nd PTA General Assembly was held earlier today at the Parish Multi-Purpose Hall. The meeting gathered parents, teachers, and school administrators to discuss important updates, upcoming activities, and ways to further support student development.

After the general session, parents attended their respective Homeroom Meetings, where they had the opportunity to connect with class advisers and discuss academic matters more closely.

The event concluded with the Recognition of Academic Achievers, honoring students who have shown outstanding academic performance and commitment to excellence.

𝐘𝐄𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐃𝐀𝐘 | 𝐂𝐄𝐀𝐏-𝐂𝐞𝐒𝐒𝐏𝐀'𝐬 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓

Yesterday, our school participated in the CEAP-CeSSPA Student Congress 2025 held at Sacred Heart School–Ateneo de Cebu, Mandaue City. With the theme “Living Synodality Together: Young Leaders as Witnesses of Hope,” the congress gathered student leaders from Catholic schools across Cebu for leadership workshops, collaborative discussions, and the sharing of best practices. Representing our school were selected SBO officers together with the SBO Adviser, Ms. Lucy May Arnado. The event concluded with a solemn Thanksgiving Mass at the Cor Jesu Chapel, celebrating fellowship and a renewed commitment to Catholic education and service.

𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐋𝐈𝐄𝐑 | 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐋𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐎𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧

Earlier today, Mrs. Glenly N. Quisido, School Principal, together with Ms. Xyril Alquizar, led an orientation session for CTU-Pinamungajan students at our school's science laboratory. The activity aimed to familiarize students with the proper use and handling of essential laboratory apparatus. During the session, Mrs. Quisido and Ms. Alquizar conducted live demonstrations on the correct operation of the platform balance, vernier caliper, and spring scale. This initiative not only promoted laboratory safety but also enhanced the students' understanding of basic measurement tools used in scientific experiments.

𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟐, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 | 𝐒𝐈𝐃𝐋𝐀𝐊: 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐏𝐢𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧

Last September 2, our school proudly took part in the SIDLAK: Project Pitch Competition, an inspiring event that brought together innovative proposals from various schools across the municipality. Representing our institution, our team presented 𝗜𝗠𝗕𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗢: 𝗔 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗣𝗼𝗽-𝘂𝗽 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆—a forward-thinking project that envisions a vibrant space where young people can showcase their talents, entrepreneurial abilities, and creative passions through dynamic, community-based pop-up events. The project highlights the importance of youth empowerment and sustainable local engagement. Guided by their dedicated coach, Ms. Lucy May Arnado, and fueled by their vision, Kiezer Villarin, Althea Piala, and Angelique Balansag impressed the judges and proudly secured 3rd Place in the competition.

We are also deeply grateful for the unwavering support of our school administrators, whose encouragement and commitment played a key role in this remarkable achievement.

We are proud to announce that our school earned 𝟯𝗿𝗱 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 in the SIDLAK: Project Pitch Competition held last September 2, an event that brought together talented students from various schools across the municipality. Today, the Church joyfully celebrates the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, a moment that marks the dawn of salvation and the unfolding of God’s plan of redemption. Born to Saints Joachim and Anne, Mary was chosen from all eternity to become the Mother of our Lord Jesus Christ. Her birthday is a source of hope and joy for all the faithful, for through her, the Savior entered into the world. As we honor this special day, we are called to imitate her humility, obedience, and steadfast faith in God’s will—virtues that continue to inspire and guide us on our journey of discipleship.

Earlier. the school joyfully commemorated the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary through a solemn Holy Mass presided by our beloved school director, Rev. Fr. Jerald N. Pinay. In his homily, Fr. Jerald highlighted how Mary lived her life in total union with Christ, serving as a model of faith, humility, and obedience for all Christians. As a Catholic institution, the celebration deepened our devotion to the Blessed Mother and inspired the Academian community to follow her example of unwavering trust in God’s will.

𝐒𝐓. 𝐂𝐀𝐑𝐋𝐎 𝐀𝐂𝐔𝐓𝐈𝐒, 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐮𝐬!

Today, history unfolds as Bl. Carlo Acutis has been officially canonized a saint by His Holiness Pope Leo XVI. Born in 1991 and called to eternal rest in 2006, St. Carlo Acutis is widely remembered as the "Cyber Apostle of the Eucharist" for his devotion to the Blessed Sacrament and his creative use of modern technology to spread the faith. At a young age, he dedicated his talents in programming and digital media to create an online exhibition of Eucharistic miracles around the world, showing that holiness is possible even in the digital age. Now recognized as the Patron Saint of the Internet and of the Youth, his life reminds us that sanctity is not bound by time, age, or tools—it can flourish even in the heart of contemporary culture. His canonization calls us to follow his example of simplicity, kindness, and deep love for the Eucharist, as we journey toward Christ in our daily lives.

Earlier today, the school community gathered in solemn observance of the First Friday Mass in honor of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The Eucharistic celebration was presided over by Rev. Fr. Jerald N. Pinay, School Director. In his homily, Fr. Jerald reflected on the importance of trust in God's perfect timing, reminding us that “there is a proper time for everything.” His message encouraged students and staff to remain patient and faithful amid life’s challenges, drawing inspiration from the unwavering love of the Sacred Heart.

Yesterday, the Sta. Monica Academy community joyfully marked a historic milestone with the Groundbreaking Ceremony of the Monicanian Covered Court, graciously presided over by His Excellency, Most Rev. Jose S. Palma, D.D., Archbishop of Cebu. Present to witness this significant occasion were Hon. Glenn F. Baricuatro, Municipal Mayor of Pinamungajan, Rev. Fr. Dave Villaceran, Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Jerald N. Pinay, School Director, Mrs. Glenly N. Quisido, School Principal, Rev. Fr. Niño B. Tamayo, School Treasurer, the AR Sisters, together with the PTA Executive Committee and the Alumni Association President, whose united presence signified the enduring collaboration of Church, school, and community.

Following the solemn blessing of the grounds by Archbishop Palma, a Pontifical Mass was celebrated to honor both the new project and the 175th Founding Anniversary of Sta. Monica Parish. This Eucharistic celebration gathered parishioners, the academic family, and friends of the institution, further strengthening the spirit of gratitude and unity in faith.

We are delighted to announce the Groundbreaking Ceremony for the construction of our school’s Covered Court, which will be held tomorrow, September 4, at 9:30 AM. This significant milestone marks a new chapter in fostering a safe, functional, and holistic learning environment for our students and community.

The ceremony will be spearheaded by 𝗛𝗶𝘀 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗲, 𝗠𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗥𝗲𝘃. 𝗝𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗦. 𝗣𝗮𝗹𝗺𝗮, 𝗗.𝗗., Archbishop of Cebu, whose presence and blessing highlight the importance of this project as a beacon of unity and growth. Earlier today, our school team—composed of Kiezer Villarin, Althea Piala, and Angelique Balansag, with their adviser Ms. Lucy May Arnado—clinched 2nd Place in the Jeopardy Quiz Bee Competition held at the Municipal Legislative Building. The event, which gathered participants from various schools across Pinamungajan, showcased a fierce battle of knowledge and quick thinking. The team delivered an exceptional performance, proudly representing our school and bringing home a well-deserved victory.
