(Legazpi City, August 1, 2025) The Provincial Government of Albay is working to speed up the construction of the new Pio Duran Memorial District Hospital in Barangay Caratagan.

The move was due to flooding of the original hospital in Barangay 2, Poblacion, caused by the recent Southwest Monsoon.

Albay Governor Noel Ebriega Rosal said the flooding highlights the need to enhance primary healthcare services in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas.

The original hospital is set to be relocated to a new site in Caratagan due to these flooding issues.

Governor Rosal emphasized that this development aims to improve healthcare quality and outcomes for underserved coastal communities.

He also reaffirmed his commitment to upgrading the healthcare system and workforce as a key priority of his administration.

3 oras na lang ang biyahe mula Laguna hanggang Bicol sa panahong matapos ang rehabilitasyon sa tinaguriang โ€œBicol Expressโ€ ng PNR.

Sinimulan na ng engineering team ng PNR ang pagsasaayos at paglalagay ng synthetic bridge ties sa Palicpic - Ayungin Bridge na nasa pagitan ng College flagstop at San Pablo Station.

Sa panahong matapos ito, hindi na mamomroblema sa malubak at mahabang biyahe ang mga pasahero, at literal na pwede nang bumiyahe nang balikan mula Laguna hanggang Bicol. ๐Ÿ˜
