To promote awareness and equip students with essential knowledge and skills in using Artificial Intelligence (AI), PCC students attended the seminar entitled "Prompt Your Future: AI Literacy for the Next Generation," today, at the covered court.
The program commenced with a prayer and the singing of the Philippine national anthem through an audio-visual presentation, followed by the opening remarks of Sir Butch Ros, MBA, Vice President for Administration.
An overview of the AI4AI program was presented by Mr. Christian Dy, Program Director, through an audio-visual presentation, providing participants with a broader understanding of the initiativeโs mission to advance AI awareness and education.
In his discussion, Mr. Alvin Dale L. Soliven introduced the different types of artificial intelligence and emphasized the growing importance of prompt engineering.
He explained that the effectiveness of AI tools largely depends on how well users construct their prompts, encouraging students to be intentional and precise in their use of technology.
Meanwhile, Mr. Johann Louise V. Castillo focused on the future of artificial intelligence, addressing both its opportunities and potential challenges in the 21st century.
Castillo underscored the importance of developing essential human-centered skills such as critical thinking, communication and empathy, creativity, and originality to ensure responsible and effective collaboration with AI systems.
The event concluded with the awarding of certificates of appreciation to the resource speakers, the AI4AI Program Coordinator from the Higher Education Institution (HEI), and the acknowledgment of Maโam Shane Roslin, MAEd, for her support and contribution to the success of the activity.
The seminar was initiated by Congressman Raymond Adrian E. Salceda of the 3rd District of Albay through the Albay Institute for Artificial Intelligence, as part of ongoing efforts to empower students and foster innovation through AI education.
