Polangui Community College participated in the Bicol Regional Pre-Service Teacher Education Congress '25 held at the Albay Astrodome, Legazpi City on September 17.
Carrying the theme โPreparing Future Educators for an AI-Driven World,โ the event gathered pre-service teachers, mentors, and education leaders across the region to discuss the changing role of educators in the age of artificial intelligence (AI).
The congress was organized by the Council of Deans for Teacher Education Region V (Bicol), Inc. (CODTE) in partnership with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Region V.
PCCโs delegation was led by Dr. Ma. Joy S. Cruz, Dean of the Teacher Education Department; Annecelle Joy S. Oribiana, MAEd, Program Head of BPED; Marites G. Regalado, MAEd, Program Head of BTLED and BTVTED; and Roe Camasis, Collegian Playhouse Adviser, accompanying pre-service teachers from the BPED, BSED, BTLED, and BTVTED programs.
The participants engaged in sessions featuring distinguished speakers, including Dr. Rose Marie A. Arao, Education Supervisor II of CHED Region V, representing CHED Regional Director Dr. Demetrio P. Anduyan, Jr., CESO III; Dr. Jennifer L. Lovido, DIT, Professor V and Education Program Supervisor II for Research of DepEd Sorsogon City Division; and Prof. Maritess D. Carreon, MIT, Associate Professor at Partido State University.
Highlighting the cultural component of the event, the Collegian Playhouse of PCC, under the direction of Mr. Roe Camasis, performed โEpic Story of Pulang Anguiโ at the Tanghalang CoDTE 2025: Showcase of Bikol Festivals. The performance paid tribute to Polanguiโs legendary tale, celebrating local heritage and traditions.
