𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 | Polangui Community College (PCC) celebrated a significant milestone with the blessing and ribbon-cutting ceremony of its new Skills Lab Building, guardhouse, and comfort rooms today, June 17.

The ceremony marked a new chapter in the institution's commitment to providing modern facilities that support quality education and a safe learning environment.

Rev. Fr. Dante Mejillano conducted the blessing of the new facilities, invoking divine guidance and protection for the students, faculty, and staff.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony was led by Hon. Mayor and Congressman-elect Raymond Adrian E. Salceda, Hon. Vice Mayor Cherilie Mella Sampal, Dr. Clyde Alexander A. Antioquia, and Dr. Rosalinda B. Barquez.

During the ceremony, Hon. Mayor Salceda expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to serve the PCC, highlighting his three-year tenure as mayor in Polangui.

"[It has been my pleasure and honor] to serve as mayor for the past three years. And now, I am blessed to be given a chance to serve PCC as the incoming congressman," he said.

"Pagkatapos ng Polangui MICERS [Building], another facilities for PCC again. May sarili na po kayong astrodome and additional classrooms and siyempre, mas marami pa kung ano ang mas kailangan ng PCC," he concluded.

The ceremony was attended by PCC personnel and LGU officials, who gathered to witness this momentous occasion.

The new facilities are expected to enhance the overall experience of students and staff, further solidifying the school's dedication to excellence.

With these new additions, PCC continues to demonstrate its commitment to providing a conducive learning environment, empowering students to achieve their full potential.

𝗣𝗖𝗖 𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗱𝗲𝗮𝗻'𝘀 𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱

Polangui Community College (PCC) proudly recognized the outstanding achievements of its students at the Medallion Day 2025 ceremony, today, June 17 at the PCC covered court.

Themed "Rising with Integrity, Leading with Purpose: Honoring the Achievers of the Class of 2025," the event was attended by awardees and their parents; faculty members; and guests.

Dr. Manuel C. Mendoza, Dean of Business and Management Department, delivered welcome remarks, highlighting the significance of celebrating the awardees' hard work and dedication.

Hon. Vice Mayor Cherilie Mella-Sampal, in her message, urged students to seize every opportunity, noting that opportunities are not equally given to all.

Afterward, Guest Speaker and Municipal Councilor Atty. Kristel Louise S. Pasia inspired the awardees with her powerful message: "Freedom comes with responsibility, [and] knowledge comes with accountability. Walk in this world with integrity, lead with purpose, compassion, and courage."

"[Let this be a reminder to you] that you are capable of greatness, and more importantly, the world needs your greatness," she added.

Following her inspiring speech, Atty. Pasia was awarded a plaque of appreciation by Dr. Clyde Alexander A. Antioquia, Dr. Rosalinda B. Barquez, Dr. Ma. Joy S. Cruz, and Dr. Manuel C. Mendoza.

The ceremony featured intermission numbers by students from both department

Dean's listers from Teacher Education Department received medals and certificates, with Atty. Pasia, Dr. Antioquia, Dr. Cruz, Mrs. Annecelle Joy S. Oribiana, and Mrs. Joan L. Saminiano assisting the recognition.

Medals and certificates were also awarded to Business and Management Department dean's listers, assisted by Atty. Pasia, Dr. Antioquia, Dr. Mendoza, Mr. Richard S. Resoco, Mr. Butch S. Ros, and Ma'am Mei R. Sasuca.

Also, service awardees received medals and certificates in recognition of their invaluable service.

In her closing remarks, Dr. Cruz, Dean of Teacher Education Department, emphasized that the medallion day symbolizes hard work, resilience, and the pursuit of greater goals.

She also extended her gratitude to the event's overall chairperson Ma'am Sasuca, co-chairperson Mrs. Oribiana, working committees, faculty members, dean's listers, and parents.

ENROLLMENT PARA SA MGA INCOMING FIRST-YEAR STUDENTS SA PCC, NAGSIMULA NA

Nagsimula ngayong araw, Hunyo 16, 2025, ang opisyal na enrollment para sa mga incoming first-year students ng Polangui Community College (PCC). Tatagal ito hanggang Hunyo 18, 2025 para sa mga qualified students, habang itinakda naman ang Hunyo 19 para sa mga nasa waiting list.

Pinangungunahan ng Registrar's Office ang enrollment process, katuwang ang Guidance Counselor Office, PCC Clinic, at ang mga incoming officers ng College Student Council (CSC), upang matiyak ang maayos at episyenteng serbisyo para sa mga bagong estudyante.

Ito na ang ikalimang araw ng enrollment sa PCC mula nang pormal itong buksan noong Hunyo 9, 2025 para sa iba’t ibang year levels. Sa kasalukuyan, nakatuon na ang buong atensyon ng administrasyon sa pagtanggap ng mga bagong mag-aaral na magiging bahagi ng PCC sa darating na Academic Year 2025–2026.

Para sa mga mag-eenroll sa mga susunod na araw, narito ang mga kailangang sunding hakbang: una, validation of requirements sa Guidance Office; ikalawa, health assessment sa PCC Clinic; ikatlo, registration and enrollment sa Registrar’s Office, kabilang dito ang pagbabayad ng membership fee; at sa huli, registration ng NSTP bilang bahagi ng opisyal na proseso ng pagpasok sa kolehiyo.

Paggunita sa Ika-127 Anibersaryo ng Kalayaan ng Pilipinas

Sa ika-12 ng Hunyo, muling bumabalik sa alaala ang araw na itinaas ang watawat ng Pilipinas at ipinahayag ang kasarinlan—isang sagisag ng tapang, dangal, at walang kapantay na pagmamahal sa Inang Bayan. Sa bawat pintig ng kasaysayan, nakaukit ang paghihirap at pakikibaka ng mga ninuno upang palayain ang lahing Pilipino mula sa tanikala ng dayuhang pananakop.

Ngayon, sa lilim ng kalayaang kanilang ipinaglaban, tayo’y inaanyayahang magnilay at kumilos—upang patuloy na buhayin ang diwa ng kabayanihan sa gitna ng makabagong hamon. Ang kalayaan ay hindi lamang alaala, kundi pananagutan; hindi lamang selebrasyon, kundi panata.

The municipality of Polangui celebrated the 127th Philippine Independence Day on June 12, 2025. The event held on the Municipal Building at 7:00 in the morning with the theme “Kalayaan: Moog ng Katatagan ng Bayan.”

The event started with the opening prayer led by Rev. Fr. Dante Mejillano and Pastor Elijah John Reyes.

This was followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem, Bagong Pilipinas, the Albay Hymn, and the Polangui Hymn.

Atty. Kristel Louise Pasia, Chairperson of the Independence Day Committee, delivered a powerful welcome address. She remarked:
"Ang kalayaan ay hindi lamang kasaysayan — ito ay isang tungkulin. Ang kinabukasan ay hindi lamang inaasam kundi pinagsusumikapan. At ang kasaysayan ay hindi lamang inaalala — ito ay gabay sa ating mga hakbang bilang isang bansa."

Adding to the celebration, a student from PGCHS captivated the audience with a heartfelt song performance and PGCHS Dancers also performed a cultural dance.

Vice Mayor Cherilie Mella Sampal also delivered an inspiring speech, stating:
"Bakit tayo lumalaban? Dahil ang ating kalayaan ay hindi lamang isang regalo — ito ay isang responsibilidad." She also added
"Ang kalayaan ay hindi lang pinaglalaban, kung hindi ito ay inaalagaan,"

Mayor Raymond Adrian E. Salceda followed with his heartfelt message, quoting:
"Aling pag-ibig ang hihigit pa sa pagkadalisay at pagkadakila, gaya ng pag-ibig sa sariling lupa?— ang pagdiriwang ng araw ng kalayaan ay isang mahalagang paalala sa ating lahat isang pag gunita at pagkilala sa kabayanihan ng ating mga ninuno na walang sawang o pag aalinlangang inalay ang kanilang buhay upang makamit o makamtan ang kalayaang tinatamasa natin ngayon," He also added " Naway magsilbing gabay ang mga aral natin sa kasaysayan upang mapangalagaan natin ang ating kalayaan isang yaman na hindi lang para sa kasalukuyan kundi para sa mga susunod na henerasyon— sapagkat marahil nga wala ng hihigit pa sa pag-ibig kundi ang pag-ibig sa sariling lupa,"

The event concluded with the special flower offering ceremony done at the Veterans Monument to honor the brave heroes of Polangui. This part was led by Municipal Mayor Hon. Raymond Adrian E. Salceda, Vice Mayor Hon. Cherilie Mella Sampal, P/LtCol. Henry Red (Chief of Police), JINSP. Alvin S. Orlain (Acting Warden), and F/INP. Ferdinand M. Dado (Fire Marshall). Followed by a 21-gun salute that was performed by the PNP to pay tribute to the country’s heroes.

After the ceremony, guests took part in a group photo to remember the meaningful celebration and show their shared pride in honoring the nation’s independence.

ICYMI || PCC Entrepreneurship Students Excel in DTI’s YEP-YCBYOB 2025 Business Pitching Competition

Five BS-Entrepreneurship students from Polangui Community College (PCC) showcased their entrepreneurial skills in the Youth Entrepreneurship Program – You Can Be Your Own Boss (YEP-YCBYOB) 2025, held from May 20–22, 2025, at the DTI Region V Office in Rawis, Legazpi City.

Organized by the Department of Trade and Industry Region V, the event aimed to ignite the entrepreneurial spirit among students through intensive workshops, mentorship, and a culminating business pitching competition.

PCC representatives Bernadette Monasterial, Lou Ross Ravalo, Sophia Aglipay, Alexandra Aliz Pielago, and Joshua Rutobio actively took part in the program. Among them, Alexandra Aliz Pielago’s team emerged as Champion, while Lou Ross Ravalo’s team bagged the 1st Runner-Up in the Business Pitching Showdown.

These achievements affirm the strength of PCC’s BS-Entrepreneurship program in producing innovative, confident, and collaborative future business leaders.

ICYMI || Monlee Food Manufacturing Wins Regional Spot in Young Farmers Challenge

Monlee Food Manufacturing, the student-led start-up from Polangui Community College, has officially secured a spot among the 15 awardees in the Young Farmers Challenge (YFC) FY 2024 – Start-up Component (Open Category). The announcement came shortly after the Regional Business Pitching Event held on May 29, 2025, at the Department of Agriculture – Region V Office in Pili, Camarines Sur.

Led by Mr. Miguel Banzales, with team members Mr. Randell Joy Penino and Mr. Nemuel Buenaobra, the Monlee team impressed judges with their innovative food business concept. Their success earned them a place in the next phase of the competition and a ₱80,000 seed grant to support their venture’s growth.

The team’s advancement highlights the growing impact of young agri-preneurs from Polangui Community College and positions them as promising contenders at the national level of the YFC competition.
