𝗔𝗡𝗡𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗖𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧 | Per PDRRMC-APSEMO Advisory No. 2025-36, the suspension of face-to-face classes and work in both public and private schools, government, and private offices in Albay has been lifted effective tomorrow, Saturday, September 27, 2025.

This comes after the improvement of weather conditions in the province.

𝗔𝗡𝗡𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗖𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧 | In preparation for the possible landfall of Typhoon Opong in the Bicol Region, classes at Polangui Community College will shift to synchronous and asynchronous modes starting at 12:30 PM today, Wednesday, September 24, 2025.

Meanwhile, per PDRRMC-APSEMO Advisory No. 2025-32, all levels of classes in Albay (public and private) are suspended tomorrow, September 25, 2025, until further notice.

𝗡𝗘𝗪𝗦 || Dadap, Sindayen Win 1st Place in Business Plan Competition at ENEDA ’25

BS Entrepreneurship students Jhe Ann Mhel Dadap and Rona Kristy Sindayen of Best Food Zone won 1st place in the Business Plan Competition at ENEDA 2025, held on September 18 in Cebu City.

Out of 17 participating State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) and private schools nationwide, the duo was the only team from a community college and the only representative from the Bicol Region to be recognized.

Guided by their coach, Prof. Miles Jesalva, the PCC representatives received a cash prize and a certificate of recognition for their outstanding achievement.

The ENEDA National Conference 2025, hosted by the Entrepreneurship Educators Association of the Philippines, Inc. (ENEDA) in partnership with the University of San Carlos (USC) in Cebu City from September 17–19, carried the theme “The Triple Power of Creative Entrepreneurship in Nation-Building: Design, Disrupt, Deliver.” The event aimed to foster creative entrepreneurship for national development through presentations, activities, student business plan competitions, and awards for outstanding faculty and students.

𝗣𝗖𝗖 𝗷𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝗕𝗶𝗰𝗼𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀' 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 '25

Polangui Community College participated in the Bicol Regional Pre-Service Teacher Education Congress '25 held at the Albay Astrodome, Legazpi City on September 17.

Carrying the theme “Preparing Future Educators for an AI-Driven World,” the event gathered pre-service teachers, mentors, and education leaders across the region to discuss the changing role of educators in the age of artificial intelligence (AI).

The congress was organized by the Council of Deans for Teacher Education Region V (Bicol), Inc. (CODTE) in partnership with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Region V.

PCC’s delegation was led by Dr. Ma. Joy S. Cruz, Dean of the Teacher Education Department; Annecelle Joy S. Oribiana, MAEd, Program Head of BPED; Marites G. Regalado, MAEd, Program Head of BTLED and BTVTED; and Roe Camasis, Collegian Playhouse Adviser, accompanying pre-service teachers from the BPED, BSED, BTLED, and BTVTED programs.

The participants engaged in sessions featuring distinguished speakers, including Dr. Rose Marie A. Arao, Education Supervisor II of CHED Region V, representing CHED Regional Director Dr. Demetrio P. Anduyan, Jr., CESO III; Dr. Jennifer L. Lovido, DIT, Professor V and Education Program Supervisor II for Research of DepEd Sorsogon City Division; and Prof. Maritess D. Carreon, MIT, Associate Professor at Partido State University.

Highlighting the cultural component of the event, the Collegian Playhouse of PCC, under the direction of Mr. Roe Camasis, performed “Epic Story of Pulang Angui” at the Tanghalang CoDTE 2025: Showcase of Bikol Festivals. The performance paid tribute to Polangui’s legendary tale, celebrating local heritage and traditions.

Polangui Community College proudly celebrates a milestone as its Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship representatives gained national recognition at the ENEDA 2025 National Conference held at the University of San Carlos, Cebu City.

Jhe Ann Mhel Dadap and Rona Kristy Sindayen were awarded as Finalists for Most Outstanding Entrepreneurship Students, while their mentor, Prof. Miles Jesalva, MEntrep, was also hailed as a Finalist for Most Outstanding Entrepreneurship Educator.

𝗔𝗡𝗡𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗖𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧 || In anticipation of the nationwide transport strike scheduled tomorrow, September 18, 2025, the Albay Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) has ordered all public and private schools across the province to shift to flexible learning modalities (online or modular).

Governor Noel E. Rosal, through Advisory No. 2025-30, also directed offices to provide transport for employees and placed all DRRMOs on alert to monitor and respond as needed.

𝗡𝗘𝗪𝗦 || Jhe Ann Mhel Dadap and Rona Kristy Sindayen, 4th Year BS-Entrepreneurship students of Polangui Community College (PCC), are set to represent PCC in the ENEDA National Conference 2025 to be held in Cebu City on September 17–19.

With the theme “Design. Disrupt. Deliver,” the conference will gather entrepreneurship students and mentors from various institutions nationwide.

Both students are nominated for the Most Outstanding Entrepreneurship Student award and will also compete in the Business Plan Competition, where they will present innovative ideas and entrepreneurial solutions.

They will be accompanied by their mentor, Prof. Miles Jesalva, MEntrep.

𝗦𝗘𝗔𝗥𝗖𝗛 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗡𝗘𝗫𝗧 𝗣𝗢𝗟𝗔𝗡𝗚𝗨𝗜 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗠𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗧𝗬 𝗖𝗢𝗟𝗟𝗘𝗚𝗘 𝗣𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗜𝗗𝗘𝗡𝗧

The Polangui Community College (PCC) Governing Board officially opens the search for the next College President. The appointed leader will carry the responsibility of steering the institution towards academic excellence, innovation, and service to the community.

Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications for LUC Presidency, which include:

1. At least 35 years old but not older than 61 years old at the time of application
2. A Filipino citizen
3. Holder of an earned doctorate degree (PQF Level 8.) from a CHED-recognized HEI or an accredited foreign institution
4. With at least five (5) years of proven track record as an HEI administrator or high-level management executive
5. Must not have been convicted of any crime involving moral turpitude or dismissed from service

Interested applicants must submit one (1) set of original and six (6) certified photocopies of all required documents to the PCC College Presidential Search Committee.

A candidate who cannot provide the necessary supporting documents and does not meet any of the required minimum qualifications shall be automatically disqualified from the search process.

Today, September 2, we commemorate the 160th Birth Anniversary of General Simeon Ola, Albay’s local hero and the last Filipino general to surrender during the Philippine-American War.

By virtue of Republic Act No. 11136, this annual celebration, known as “Simeon Ola Day,” honors his legacy of courage and patriotism. As we look back on his contributions, may we carry forward his spirit in building a nation grounded on unity and resilience.
