The World Health Organization (WHO) continues to call for immediate measures to test all suspicious cases, nothing that the “backbone” of an effective coronavirus response is the ability to conduct large scale testing as the worldwide number of infections reach more than 88 million, 49.1million number of recoveries and 1.9million number of deaths (as of January 2021).

In the Philippines, two distinct research methods are used by health professionals to screen suspected and probable cases of COVID-19: the reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test, also known as the swab test, and the rapid test kits (RTK).

In this video you will acquire information about Rapid Antibody test on what kind of method it is and how it is done.

Remember, stay safe and stay healthy! Wear your mask and always follow safety protocols.

All COVID19 test kits are NOT the same, and each has its own advantages and disadvantages.

“We have a simple message to all countries: test, test, test” World Health Organization (WHO) Director General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus emphasized during a virtual conference as he stressed the crucial need to escalate testing, isolation and contact tracing efforts.

The complete genetic sequence of the SARS-COV-2 virus was submitted to the Global Initiative on Sharing All Influenza Data (GISAID) website as of January 2020. Pharmaceuticals and testing laboratories have been able to create diagnostic kits that can identify the coronavirus in just a few weeks. But not all tests are the same, so there are numerous advantages and disadvantages to each package.

This page or the PBL COVID-19 Testing Informative Page will give you information that will help you determine the difference between Reverse Transcriptase Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) test also known as ‘swab test’ and the Rapid Antibody Test Kits (RATK) each of them having its advantages and disadvantages.
