Tourists in El Nido are reminded not to walk around town in swimsuits or swimming trunks.
El Nido Tourism said in a social media post today, August 1, that elders and religious leaders in the town recently reminded them that modesty has long been valued by Cuyonon and Palawan religious institutions.
โWhen tourism first opened up in El Nido few years ago, it has always been welcomed with open arms. However, the elders requested that tourists not walk around town in their swimming suits and trunks,โ El Nido Tourism said.
โOf course, this does not apply on beaches and on the islands, but here in town they asked for people to wear a coverup or clothes," it added.
