DEPED REGIONAL DIRECTOR NICOLAS CAPULONG, ITINALAGA BILANG OFFICER-IN-CHARGE NG DEPED PALAWAN KASUNOD NG SUSPENSYON NI SDS ELSIE BARRIOS

Itinalaga bilang Officer-in-Charge ng Office of the Schools Division Superintendent ng DepEd Palawan si Regional Director Nicolas Capulong ng DepEd MIMAROPA.

Ito ay kasunod ng naging suspensyon ni SDS Dr. Elsie Barrios kaugnay ng imbestigasyon sa umano’y “item and transfer for sale” sa DepEd Palawan.

Ang pagkakatalaga kay Capulong ay alisunod sa memorandum na inilabas noong August 20, 2025 at pirmado ni DepEd Undersecretary Wilfredo E. Cabral at USEC Peter Erving C. Corvera.

Si SDS Barrios at ang dalawa pang opisyal ay pinatawan ng 90-days preventive suspension ng DepEd Central office dahil sa mga reklamong may kaugnayan sa pagtanggap ng pera kapalit ng appointment, promotion, at transfer ng mga g**o sa Palawan.

SUNOG, SUMIKLAB SA ISANG BAHAY SA BARANGAY MALINAO, NARRA, PALAWAN

Isang sunog ang sumiklab sa isang bahay sa Purok Tagumpay, Barangay Malinao, Narra, kanina, bandang 12:30 ng tanghali, August 24, 2025.

Ang naturang bahay ay pagmamay-ari ni Ginang Nelia Castro.

Ayon sa mga residente, may biglang pumutok sa loob ng bahay kasunod ang pagsiklab ng apoy at dahil sa gawa ito sa light material ay mabilis na tinupok ang buong kabahayan.

Dahil sa bilis ng pagkalat ng apoy ay walang naisalbang kahit anong gamit ang biktima at ng kanyang pamilya.

Sa ngayon ay patuloy ang imbestigasyon ng BFP Narra sa insidente para matukoy ang posibleng dahilan ng sunog at kung magkano ang kabuuang halaga ng pinsala nito.

P1 BILYON NA DAGDAG PONDO PARA SA BROOKE'S POINT DRAINAGE MASTER PLAN IPAGKAKALOOB NI CONG. JOSE ALVAREZ

Ipagkakaloob ni Cong. Jose Alvarez, kinatawan ng 2nd District Palawan, ang P1 billion mula sa kanyang congressional fund para sa ikinakasang Drainage Master Plan ng bayan ng Brookes Point.

Simula sa taong 2027, maglalaan si Cong. JCA ng P166.66 milyon kada taon sa loob ng anim na taon upang maisakatuparan ang nasabing proyekto.

Ayon sa kanya, nakikita niya na hindi umano sapat ang inilaang pondo ng lokal na pamahalaan kaya nais niya itong dagdagan.

Samantala, nauna nang sinabi ni Mayor Benedito na may inilaan nang pondo ang Lokal na pamahalaan ng Brooke's Point na nagkakahalaga ng P5 milyon taon-taon para dito, ngunit hindi aniya ito sapat kaya nagdesisyon si Cong. JCA na tumulong at maglaan ng nasabing halaga.
