GOOD NEWS! You now have an opportunity to invest in and own a small part of MYNT, the company behind GCash.
If you use GCash almost every day, hereās something interesting: the company behind the app is about to enter the Philippine stock market.
MYNT, the parent company of GCash, has received approval for its initial public offering, or IPO. In simple terms, this means ordinary Filipinos could soon have the chance to buy shares and become part-owners of the company.
The IPO has a maximum indicated price of ā±10 per share, but the final price has not yet been set. BDO Capital president Eduardo Francisco said it could potentially be around ā±7.50 to ā±8.50 per share.
And GCash is no small business.
In 2025, MYNT reported about ā±79.8 billion in revenue and ā±17.2 billion in net income. GCash had 39.1 million monthly active users and processed about ā±17 trillion worth of transactions during the year.
Thatās especially relevant to Filipinos outside Metro Manila. MYNT says more than 78 percent of its users live outside the capital.
For us here in Palawan, GCash has become part of everyday lifeāfrom sending money and paying bills to shopping, saving, and accessing other financial services.
The planned IPO is scheduled for October 6 to 12, with MYNT expected to list on the Philippine Stock Exchange on October 20, under the ticker symbol GCASH.
But remember: owning or using GCash does not automatically make you a shareholder. You would have to actually buy MYNT shares through the IPO or after the company becomes publicly listed.
The final share priceāand how the stock performs after listingāwill still depend on investor demand and market conditions.
Would you consider owning a small part of the company behind the GCash app you use every day?
