Don't let me cry mom. My lungs will not get bigger, I will not get stronger, I will not grow wiser.
Don't let me cry mom. Don't listen to those comments, your kisses won't spoil me, your breast won't make me dependent, I don't do it to disturb.
Don't let me cry mom. I can only trust you, I only know your voice, your smell, I only think about you since I came out of your womb.
Don't let me cry mom. Don't teach me how to comfort myself alone, I don't need it, because I know I can always count on you.
Don't listen to them. Don't spoil me when you attend to my cry. I don't ask you for comfort at night to disturb, I look for you because I need you, because I don't understand this world we live in, because I'm just learning to love.
Don't teach me from a young age to cry, to suffer, to feel lonely.
I'm going to learn it, I promise you. One day I will really suffer and my cry will not be for you to hold me in your arms or to breastfeed me, one day my cry will be as an adult and you won't be able to console it.
That day I want to remember simpler days. Days when my parents kissed me and only with that I stopped crying. Those days don't come back and if I never had them I won't have to remember. Don't let me cry mom.
