Voice Actress Seon Eun Hye Passes Away At Age 40 😢

Voice actress Seon Eun Hye of Black Rubber Shoes has passed away at the age of 40.

The late Seon Eun Hye passed away on the 17th. The news was shared by fellow voice actor Jung Sung Hoon through his social media, but the exact cause of death has not been disclosed.

Born in 1985, she joined the KBS Voice Acting Theater in 2011 as part of its 36th class and worked as a freelancer from 2013 until 2024.

She is survived by her husband, Choi Jae Ho, chairman of the Korea Voice Actor Association, and their son. She was originally Choi Jae Ho’s student during her trainee days, later marrying him.

Following the announcement, condolences poured in from fellow voice actors. Senior Chae Eui Jin mourned, “Beautiful junior Eun Hye… Rest in peace,” while Nam Do Hyung wrote, “I will never forget the time we spent together. My deepest condolences.” Junior Kim Ga Ryeong also posted, “Rest in peace, senior Seon Eun Hye.”

MANILA, Philippines — Filipino singer-songwriter Dorado has carved her name into South Korean music history after advancing to the Top 4 of the hit TV competition Sing Again Season 4, becoming the only foreign finalist in the show’s current season.

Competing against Korean finalists Lee O-uk, Kim Jae-min, and Slowly, the 21-year-old artist stunned both viewers and judges with her powerful performance of “I Want You,” a song composed and produced by acclaimed musician Kim Do-hun. Her performance earned near-perfect scores, totaling 798 out of 800 points — the highest score recorded in the season so far, according to host Lee Seung-gi.

The judges’ panel, composed of some of South Korea’s most respected artists including Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon, Super Junior’s Kyuhyun, Baek Ji-young, Yoon Jong-shin, and Code Kunst, praised Dorado’s vocal control, emotional depth, and commanding stage presence.

Dorado is no stranger to the spotlight. She first captured international attention in 2015 as a 10-year-old finalist in Asia’s Got Talent, where she earned a standing ovation and finished among the Top 5. Since then, she has grown into a versatile performer, exploring musical theater, original music, and original soundtracks under different stage names that marked each chapter of her artistic journey.

In 2024, Dorado officially began her South Korean career after signing with A.O Entertainment, releasing original tracks and soundtracks that expanded her reach across Asia. Her appearance on Sing Again 4, a program designed to give “nameless” or overlooked singers a second chance, has become a defining moment in her career comeback.

The grand finale of Sing Again Season 4 airs live on January 6, with the winner set to receive 300 million Korean won, or over ₱12 million. Regardless of the outcome, Dorado’s breakthrough as a Filipino artist in a highly competitive Korean music show highlights the growing global presence of Filipino talent — and signals a promising future for the young singer on the international stage.
