MAGNITUDE 4.2 QUAKE ROCKS OCCIDENTAL MINDORO

A magnitude 4.2 earthquake struck Santa Cruz, Occidental Mindoro at 8:54 p.m. on Sunday, October 5, with a depth of 10 kilometers, according to PHIVOLCS.

The tremor was also felt in Oriental Mindoro and Batangas, but no damage or aftershocks are expected from the quake.

LOOK: CEBU ON RED ALERT AS AFTERSHOCKS CONTINUE FOLLOWING 6.9 QUAKE

The Cebu Provincial Government remains under red alert status as disaster response and relief operations intensify across northern Cebu after the magnitude 6.9 earthquake that struck Bogo City on September 30, killing 71 people, with three still missing and nearly 600 injured.

On Sunday morning, PHIVOLCS continued to record aftershocks — including magnitude 4.1 and 4.5 quakes in Bogo City, and Intensity II tremors in Daanbantayan, Cebu, with instrumental intensities also detected in Villaba, Abuyog, and Carigara towns in Leyte province.
