It is a semi-automatic model featuring a quartz-lock direct-drive system for precise and stable rotation. Audiophiles and collectors often seek out the YP-D5 for its high performance and classic design.

Features and design
* High rotational accuracy: The quartz-lock mechanism ensures a highly accurate rotational speed, while the direct-drive system provides precise rotation control. It was designed with the goal of high rotational accuracy.
* Stable construction: The turntable features a heavy, 31cm aluminum die-cast platter and a stable, high-density particle board cabinet. This design suppresses vibration and helps produce clear, noise-free sound.
