Si Frenchie Mae Cumpio ay dating CEGP Greater Leyte Coordinator at Editor-in-Chief ng UP Vista, ang opisyal na pahayagang pangkampus ng UP Tacloban College.

Kabilang si Cumpio sa "Tacloban 5", mga human rights defenders na ipiniit ng administrasyong Duterte noong Pebrero 7, 2020 dahil sa gawa-gawang kaso. Nananatili siya sa piitan kasama ang layworker na si Marielle Domequil at human rights defender na si Alexander Abinguna.

“The Prix Voltaire laureates and those shortlisted for the prize, have risked so much to publish the works of others and secure their freedom of expression in practice,” said IPA President Gvantsa Jobava, in a statement. “They have faced exile, prison, harassment and intimidation, some have disappeared, some have been murdered. They risk all this to publish the writings of other people. To mark this 20th Anniversary of the Prix Voltaire we decided to add that as a tagline: ‘Bravery in Publishing.’ Our twenty years of laureates, and our shortlist this year are indeed the bravest among us.”

The shortlist, announced on Monday evening at the World Expression Forum in Lillehammer, Norway, features six individuals and organizations who have demonstrated “resilience and bravery.”…
