The AFP Pension and Gratuity Management Center is pleased to announce the launch of the Electronic Request for Online Updating of Pensioners. A more convenient and hassle-free way to update your AFP pension records.

Updating will still be conducted through the Viber App, but this time, instead of waiting all day for your calls to get through, a designated RLU personnel will call you directly on your scheduled date to assist with your updating.

With just a few clicks, you can now complete your updating process from the comfort of your home.

The HEROES Newsletter is the official publication of the Helping Every Retiree Obtain Enhanced Services (HEROES) Program, proudly produced by the AFP Pension and Gratuity Management Center (AFPPGMC) and managed by its Strategic Communication Team under the leadership of the Office of the Chief, AFPPGMC.

More than just a newsletter, it is a rally point, a place where stories, milestones, and images converge to honor the courage of our retirees while revealing the innovations that are transforming the AFP pension management system.

Its mission is clear: to give voice to our military retirees, strengthen bonds between AFPPGMC and its pensioners, and uphold our core values of service, integrity, and compassion. At the heart of this transformation stands the HEROES Program, the flagship initiative of AFPPGMC, spearheaded by Commodore Luidegar C Casis PN, Chief, AFPPGMC. Guided by the principle of “Service Beyond Retirement,” it bridges long-standing gaps in pension service delivery especially in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas: ensuring that no pensioner is ever left behind.

A product of strong collaboration between AFPPGMC, partner government agencies, and AFP-accredited financial institutions, the HEROES Program embodies a unified, forward-looking approach to serving the diverse needs of the AFP pensioner community. 𝟏𝟑 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 | The Armed Forces of the Philippines Pension and Gratuity Management Center (AFPPGMC), under the leadership of Commodore Luidegar C Casis PN, paid a courtesy call on the Veterans Federation of the Philippines (VFP) President and Chief Executive Officer, Major General Romeo D Alamillo AFP (Ret).

The meeting, held at the VFP Headquarters, served as a meaningful platform to discuss ongoing initiatives, explore potential areas for collaboration, and address the evolving needs of AFP pensioners and their beneficiaries nationwide. Both institutions reaffirmed their shared commitment to safeguard the dignity and welfare of those who have served in uniform, recognizing that timely and quality pension services are essential to honoring the sacrifices of our veterans.

A key highlight of the discussions was AFPPGMC’s flagship Helping Every Retiree Obtain Enhanced Services (HEROES) Program, a comprehensive initiative designed to institutionalize responsive, pensioner-centered services anchored in transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement.

AFPPGMC and VFP emphasized the importance of strengthening partnerships to address the real concerns of pensioners and beneficiaries beyond the technical aspects of pension disbursement. Such collaborations can enhance the delivery of services under the HEROES Program and contribute to improving the quality of life for pensioners nationwide.

VFP’s benefits and privileges extend beyond AFP pensioners to include retirees from Senior War Veterans (World War II, Korean War, and Vietnam War), the defunct Philippine Constabulary (PC) who were absorbed by the Philippine National Police (PNP), the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), and the surviving spouses of AFP and PVAO pensioners who are registered members of the Federation. With AFPPGMC’s wide-reaching communication platforms and continuous engagement with pensioners across the country, more eligible retirees are becoming aware of these programs, naturally complementing VFP’s mission to broaden its membership base.

The meeting concluded with both parties agreeing to maintain open lines of communication, explore joint activities, and coordinate efforts in policy advocacy, pensioner outreach, and program development.

𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐨 𝐉𝐨𝐢𝐧 𝐕𝐅𝐏:

1. Visit the VFP website at www.vfp.gov.ph/downloadable-forms and download the application form.
2. Choose your veteran organization from the directory at www.vfp.gov.ph/organization-directories.
3. Affix your signature and attach a recent 2×2 ID photo with a white background.
4. Scan and email your completed application form to [email protected] or [email protected].
5. Pay your membership dues to your chosen Charter, Fraternal, or Post President, and get your acknowledgement receipt (membership fees are waived if you are 64 years old and below).
6. For your VFP I.D., scan the QR code on the VFP website and fill out the online form.

The AFP Pension and Gratuity Management Center (AFPPGMC) extends its deepest condolences to the bereaved family of the late Captain Marky John Alberto PA, who paid the ultimate sacrifice during an encounter against remnants of a Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) in the vicinity of Barangay Lantuyang 2, Baco, Oriental Mindoro on August 12, 2025.

In a solemn gesture of compassion and respect, Commodore Luidegar C Casis PN, Chief, AFPPGMC, personally handed a sympathy card to the spouse of Cpt Alberto. Far beyond a gesture of protocol, this act is rooted in the Responsive Customer Care key program component of the Helping Every Retiree Obtain Enhanced Services (HEROES) Program, a commitment to ensuring that the families of our fallen heroes feel the enduring presence, care, and gratitude of the Armed Forces.

Cpt Alberto’s unwavering dedication to his sworn duty, his courage in the face of danger, and his selfless sacrifice for peace and security embody the noblest ideals of the AFP. His life and service are etched in the nation’s memory, not as mere records of valor, but as a living legacy that inspires those who follow in his footsteps.

In this time of grief, the AFPPGMC stands shoulder to shoulder with Cpt Alberto’s family, sharing in their sorrow and honoring his memory. The entire Center joins the AFP community in praying for the eternal repose of his soul and for comfort and strength to embrace the days ahead.
