I’m learning that becoming a new version of yourself is not always about adding more.

Sometimes it is about removing.

Removing the need to be understood by everyone.

Removing the habit of returning to what already hurt you.

Removing the guilt you feel when you finally say no.

Removing the fear that choosing yourself will make you difficult to love.

I spent too long thinking growth meant becoming stronger at carrying everything.

Now I think growth is knowing what was never yours to carry in the first place.

And that realization changes everything.

I am not carrying old weight into a life that requires new strength.

I spent too much time believing that being a good person meant always being understanding.

Understanding their pain.
Understanding their behavior.
Understanding why they hurt me.

But eventually I had to understand myself, too.

I had to understand that my heart deserves protection. That my peace matters. That kindness should never require me to abandon my dignity.

I can still be loving.
I can still be compassionate.
I can still wish people well.

But I no longer confuse goodness with allowing myself to be mistreated.

My softness is a gift, not an invitation to disrespect me.

Good morning, my Unfiltered Hearts. 🌿🤍

Before the day gets busy, before the world starts pulling on your energy, take a moment to come back to center.

Some of us woke up already carrying too much.

Too many thoughts.
Too many emotions.
Too many things we haven’t fully let go of yet.

And maybe today’s prayer is not for more strength to fight—
maybe it’s for more grace to remain soft.

Lord, quiet my anger, steady my heart, and let grace speak first.

Teach me not to let my emotions lead me where my healing has worked so hard to bring me out of.

Teach me to protect my peace, guard my words, and trust You in the moments where I want to react too quickly.

May today be gentle on our hearts.
May our responses be wiser than our triggers.
And may grace meet us before frustration does.

Have a beautiful morning, sweet souls. 🤍

I did it for me.

There are parts of my life I don’t recognize anymore.

Not because everything changed overnight, but because I did.

The things I used to tolerate feel heavy now.
The conversations I used to entertain no longer interest me.
The places I once forced myself to fit into don’t feel like home anymore.

And for a while, I wondered if I was becoming difficult.

But maybe I’m just becoming honest.

Honest about what hurts.
Honest about what drains me.
Honest about what I need.
Honest about the kind of life I want from here.

I’m not trying to become unrecognizable to anyone else.

I’m becoming recognizable to myself.

And every time I choose what feels true instead of what feels familiar…

I do it for me.

The hardest memories aren’t always the loud ones.

Sometimes they’re the ones that quietly slip back into your mind when everything around you is finally peaceful.

One sentence.

One moment.

One person.

And suddenly, you’re feeling something you thought you had already released.

I used to think that meant I wasn’t healing.

Now I know healing can include remembering.

The difference is that I’m learning not to follow every memory back into the pain.

I can feel the ache without building a home inside it.

I can honor what happened without letting it define what happens next.

And every time I choose to return to myself instead of returning to the past…

I am letting go. ✨

There was a version of me who thought silence would protect her.

She stayed quiet when something hurt.
Quiet when she felt disrespected.
Quiet when her intuition screamed.
Quiet when she deserved an apology.
Quiet because speaking up felt more dangerous than carrying the pain alone.

I’m grieving her now.

Not because she was weak.

Because I finally understand how much strength it took to survive while constantly silencing herself.

But survival is no longer the destination.

I don’t want a life where everyone else gets the comfortable version of me while I carry the consequences.

So I’m learning to say the things I once buried.

“That hurt me.”

“I don’t agree.”

“This doesn’t feel right.”

“I deserve better.”

“No.”

And maybe the most powerful one:

“This is what I need.”

My voice isn’t something I have to earn.

It was always mine.

I’m simply learning how to use it again.

I think one of the hardest things I’m learning is how to stop abandoning myself.

For so long, I ignored what I felt because I didn’t want to disappoint anyone. I stayed quiet when something bothered me. I kept going when I was tired. I questioned myself when deep down, I already knew.

I don’t want to do that anymore.

I want to trust myself.

I want to listen when my heart says no. I want to rest when I need rest. I want to enjoy what makes me happy without feeling like I need permission.

I’m not trying to become fearless or have everything figured out.

I just want to be more honest with myself.

More gentle with myself.

More present in my own life.

Maybe I was never completely lost.

Maybe I just stopped listening to myself for a while.

And now, I’m finding my way back. 🩵

Sometimes the hardest part of the night is when everything gets quiet and there’s nothing left to distract me… but my fight within myself begins, and suddenly I am both the wound and the one trying to heal it.
