HIDILYN DIAZ TO TEACH AT UP COLLEGE OF HUMAN KINETICS

OLYMPIC gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz is taking on a new role: lecturer at the University of the Philippines College of Human Kinetics (UP-CHK) beginning January 2026.

“New chapter loading,” Diaz wrote on social media, sharing that she recently met with members of the UP-CHK Executive Board to prepare for her upcoming teaching engagement.

B**G GO OPEN TO PROBE AS ICI EYES POSSIBLE LINKS BETWEEN DISCAYAS, CLTG BUILDERS

SENATOR B**g Go on Thursday said he welcomes any investigation into the alleged links between contractor couple Cezarah “Sarah” and Pacifico “Curlee” Discaya and CLTG Builders, a construction firm owned by his father.

“I welcome any investigation. Let the facts speak for themselves. Wala akong tinatago, wala akong kinatatakutan dahil wala akong kasalanan. Hindi ako sangkot sa anumang anomalya,” Go said in a press conference.

Go made the statement after the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) confirmed it will include in its probe the possible connections between the Discayas and CLTG Builders.

CIVIC leader Dr. Jose Antonio Goitia, chair emeritus of an association of civic groups, on Thursday lauded the Department of Education (DepEd) for its plan to integrate lessons on the West Philippine Sea (WPS) into the basic education curriculum.

Goitia described the initiative as “a wise and patriotic step toward building national awareness.”

NDRRMC: DEATH TOLL FROM CEBU QUAKE RISES TO 76

THE number of reported fatalities from the magnitude 6.9 earthquake that struck Bogo City, Cebu and nearby areas on September 30 has climbed to 76, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported Thursday.

In its latest situational update, the agency said all the reported deaths — still undergoing validation — were from Region 7 (Central Visayas).
