This is the one nobody talks about.
Not the loneliness of being isolated. The loneliness of being surrounded by people experiencing the same situation and arriving at completely different conclusions.
You see the dynamic clearly. You can feel the thing that's happening underneath the thing everyone is talking about. The person across from you is showing you exactly who they are and everyone else in the room is still in the explanation phase.
And you don't say it.
Not because you're afraid. Because you've been here before. Because you've learned that a truth someone isn't ready for doesn't land as a truth — it lands as an attack, as arrogance, as you thinking you know better.
So you hold it. You watch it unfold the way you already knew it would. And you process the specific exhaustion of having known something for months that everyone else will need a crisis to understand.
That's not a gift. Not uncomplicated.
It is lonely in a very specific way that most people will never be able to validate because they can't see what you're seeing.
But if you recognize this — you already know.
You're not alone in it.
There are more of us than the silence suggests.
