Sharing new work for UNFPA Philippines on

Shiela's life changed drastically after an unintended pregnancy at 15, but she soon found vital community support at an adolescent-friendly health facility. 🏥

There, she received holistic care—from essential maternal and mental healthcare to peer education—bolstered by the Joint Programme on Accelerating the Reduction of Adolescent Pregnancy (JPARAP), supported by Korea International Cooperation Agency Philippines - KOICA 필리핀사무소. With the dedicated help of local health workers and youth leaders, Shiela regained her footing, returned to school, and now dreams of a brighter future for herself and her baby.

As approaches, we stand firmly behind Shiela and all adolescent mothers. This year’s theme—‘Empowering young people to create the families they want in a fair and hopeful world’—reminds us that every young person deserves the tools, rights, and support to make informed choices about their future. By investing in youth‑friendly healthcare, education, mental health, and reproductive rights, we’re not just transforming individual lives—we’re shaping a fairer, more hopeful world for us all.

Our work for UNFPA Philippines

Every day in the Philippines 🇵🇭, 5 women die due to preventable causes linked to pregnancy or childbirth.

Despite a notable decline from 2021, these are not mere numbers—but lives that could be saved with timely, quality care. 🤰

🏥 is a powerful reminder that health systems must work for everyone—and we have to to achieve zero maternal deaths.

It's a wrap! Thank you CARE Philippines for letting us be part of the "ACCESS" project, funded by the EU Civil Protection & Humanitarian Aid, organized a successful transect walk in the Mindanao River Basin, aiming to assess landscape risks and support the needs of affected communities.
