𝑱𝒐𝒉𝒏 𝟏𝟒:𝟏𝟒-𝟐𝟎

14 You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.

15 “If you love me, keep my commands. 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.

18 I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. 19 Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. 20 On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.

𝑹𝒆𝒇𝒍𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔:

- Prayer in His name: Promise that He will answer when we ask in His name.
- Love & obedience: Love for Jesus is shown by keeping His commands.
- The Holy Spirit: The Father sends the Spirit of Truth to be with believers forever.
- Union & life: Jesus promises to come to them; because He lives, they too will live—united with Him and the Father.

Romans 1 talks about several things:

rejecting God’s truth

worshiping created things instead of God

moral corruption and selfishness

approving of sinful behavior rather than resisting it

That last part is what Romans 1:32 emphasizes strongly: not only practicing wrongdoing, but celebrating, encouraging, or normalizing it.

At the same time, the chapter is not meant to be read as “these people are hopeless.” The flow of Romans continues into later chapters where Paul explains that all people fall short and all need God’s mercy and grace. The message of the whole book is not only judgment, but also redemption through faith.

A lot of people focus only on the harsh wording “worthy of death,” but in the biblical context, death is tied to separation from God caused by sin. The larger message of Epistle to the Romans eventually points toward repentance, transformation, and salvation—not just condemnation.

God wants us to reconcile with each other so that nothing can hinder his blessings for us.

We can also pray for reconciliation when we attend on the Holy Mass.

Pray with all your heart. Jesus will help a sincere and contrite heart.
