Prepare for Feast of Trumpets - the first of God's fall feasts . It is the next event that Jesus will fulfill - the last being the Feast of Pentecost .
Look up for our redemption draws near .
Jesus commands believers to “keep watch” for His sudden coming (Matt. 24:42).
Though vigilance is a daily calling, anticipation peaks around the Feast of Trumpets.
Here are 12 reasons why:
1. DAY OF SHOUTING/TRUMPETING
The Hebrew name for the Feast of Trumpets, Yom Teruah, means “Day of Shouting” or “Day of Trumpeting.”
The Rapture is when Jesus descends with a shout and a trumpet: “For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout … and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise” (1 Thess. 4:16).
2. HIDDEN MOON
The Feast of Trumpets coincides with the moon’s hidden phase (Lev. 23:24).
The Rapture is when the Church (symbolized by the moon) is hidden: “Go, my people, enter your rooms and shut the doors behind you; hide yourselves for a little while until his wrath has passed by” (Isa. 26:20).
3. DAY AND HOUR UNKNOWN
The Feast of Trumpets begins at the first sighting of the new-moon crescent (Ps. 81:3). Since atmospheric factors make the timing of the crescent sighting unpredictable, “no one knows the day or hour” the festival begins (Matt. 24:36).
4. SEQUENTIAL TYPOLOGY
The Feast of Trumpets is the fifth of the seven festivals (Lev. 23). Since the number five signifies “grace” in Scripture, Trumpets is a fitting time for the Rapture that concludes the Age of Grace.
Moreover, Trumpets marks the end of the sixth month, evoking the end of the age after 6,000 years (Barnabas 15).
5. BIRTH SIGN
The Feast of Trumpets (when the Sun is in Virgo) is a time of “birth” (Rev. 12:1–5).
The Rapture is characterized as a “birth” (Isa. 26:17–21; 66:7–9; Jer. 30:6, 7).
6. DAYS OF NOAH – PEACE AND SECURITY
The Feast of Trumpets coincides with the annual assembly of the UN, the organization founded on the anniversary of Noah’s Flood, to maintain “international peace and security.”
Scripture teaches that when Jesus returns, it will be “like the days of Noah,” and people will be saying “peace and security” (Matt. 24:37–39; 1 Thess. 5:3).
7. WHEAT GATHERING
The Feast of Trumpets occurs at summer’s end, when wheat is gathered into barns (Deut. 16:13).
The gathering of wheat into barns typifies the gathering of believers into the Father’s House at the Rapture: “He will clear his threshing floor, gathering his wheat into the barn” (Matt. 3:12).
8. GRAPE HARVEST
The Feast of Trumpets coincides with the culmination of Israel’s grape harvest.
In Song of Songs, tender grapes are the last agricultural sign mentioned before the bride is raptured by her beloved Shepherd-King: “The vines with the tender grapes give a good smell. Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away” (Song 2:13).
9. LEFT BEHIND
The Feast of Trumpets, around summer’s end, is when the godly people disappear, and Israel is left behind:
“How miserable I am! I feel like the fruit picker after the harvest who can find nothing to eat … The godly people have all disappeared; not one honest person is left on the earth” (Mic. 7:1, 2).
“The harvest is past, the summer has ended, and we are not saved” (Jer. 8:20).
10. WEDDING REMINDER
The Feast of Trumpets is a “memorial” of the trumpet blast at Sinai, when God descended in a cloud and married Israel—a picture of the Rapture (Lev. 23:24 KJV; Ex. 19).
11. RUTH AND BOAZ’S WEDDING
Ruth and Boaz’s typological wedding may have occurred around the Feast of Trumpets. Though the couple was betrothed around Pentecost, Ruth resided with her mother-in-law until the end of the wheat harvest (Ruth 2:23). Some translations specify, “till all the barley and the wheat were laid up in the barns” (DRB). If Ruth began cohabiting with Boaz after the wheat was stored, the marriage may have been consummated in late summer, around Trumpets.
12. “MIDNIGHT” OF THE YEAR
In the Parable of the Virgins, the bridegroom appears at midnight: “At midnight the cry rang out: ‘Here’s the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!’” (Matt. 25:6).
The Feast of Trumpets lands on the 177th day of the 354-day biblical year, thus marking the midpoint, or “midnight,” of the year.

888 DAYS SINCE THE ECLIPSE “X”
Trumpets 2026 marks 888 days since the 2024 American eclipse path crossed that of the 2017 eclipse, completing a giant “X” across the U.S.

The number 8 is associated with resurrection and judgment: Jesus was resurrected on the “eighth” day, and eight individuals escaped the Flood (Matt. 28:1; 1 Pet. 3:20). Thus, a triple repetition (888) amplifies these themes, denoting an ultimate resurrection and judgment.
Furthermore, 888 is the Greek numerical value of Jesus’ name, making it a “signature” number of the Lord.
153 WEEKS SINCE OPERATION “FLOOD”
Trumpets 2026 marks exactly 153 weeks since Hamas’s Operation Al-Aqsa “Flood,” which served as the catalyst for the spiraling war with Iran.
This is significant because:
• 153 is the number of fish “caught up” and brought to the Lord—a picture of the Rapture (John 21:11; 1 Thess. 4:17)
• 153 evokes 1 Thessalonians 5:3 and the onset of the Day of the Lord.
• “Like a flood” characterizes the onset of the Day of the Lord (Dan. 9:25; Matt. 24:38, 39).
9 YEARS SINCE THE “BIRTH” SIGN
Trumpets 2026 marks exactly nine years since Jupiter, the planet associated with kingship, was birthed from the belly area of Virgo on September 12, 2017—a rare alignment that has not happened since.
This is significant because:
• The number 9 denotes a complete pregnancy term.
• The saints will reign as kings post-Rapture (Dan. 7:27; Rev. 2:26).
25 YEARS SINCE 9/11
Trumpets 2026 marks the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks that ushered in a heightened era of threat and a fundamental shift in American foreign policy, characterized as the “War on Terror.”
Since the number 25 (5 x 5) signifies an extended period of grace, Trumpets 2026 could mark the end of America’s grace period.
TIMELINE CONVERGENCE
Trumpets 2026 occurs amid a convergence of eschatological timelines.
This year marks:
• The 70th Jubilee since Israel entered the Promised Land in 1406 BC.
• 1,335 years since an “abomination” was set up on the Temple Mount in 691 AD (Dan. 12:12).
