| Out of 300 entries from 15 regions nationwide, our dear Familians once again brought pride and honor to HFSQCI at the Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (CEAP) EDSA Kwarenta: Fight for Democracy, held in commemoration of the 40th anniversary of the People Power Revolution.

Making a meaningful celebration of democracy and youth excellence on a national stage, Zoe Bernales and Mary Isabelle Madamba placed 1st and 2nd place in their respective categories, at Miriam College and National Shrine of Mary, Queen of Peace on February 25, 2026.

The Familian flag continues to wave proudly as two of HFSQC’s very own students stand on the podium at the Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (CEAP) EDSA Kwarenta Competition!

Competing against multiple schools across the nation, Zoe Aimee Bernales claimed first place in the Advanced Level of Pagsulat ng Sanaysay, alongside Mary Isabelle Madamba for the Intermediate Level of Digital Illustration at second place.

Once again, congratulations to our Editor-In-Chief and Mary Isabelle! May you continue to shine as Familians 💙💛

Four decades ago, the streets of EDSA once became a sanctuary of hope, where millions stood shoulder to shoulder, armed not with weapons but with faith, courage, and brave hearts. Four decades later, the spirit of EDSA still lives on. As we mark its 40th year, we are reminded that true power has never belonged to the few, but has always lived in the hands and hearts of the people. May the historic stretch of road continue to inspire generations protect freedom and carry forward the legacy of democracy.

As one chapter closes and another begins, the commitment to lead with humility and purpose still remains. Guided by the theme Passing on the Torch of Servant Leadership, the Senior Batch of 2026 formally turned over their responsibilities to the Grade 11 students on February 13th.

The ceremony not only marked a turning over of roles, but also reaffirmed the shared responsibility of upholding the values, vision, and legacy carried by the students.

Moreover, the highlight of the afternoon was the musical plays of high school students with the theme “The Language of Us: Weaving Words, Building Homes,” held in celebration of the English Festival. The performances aimed to appreciate literature while emphasizing the importance of family values.

Among the competing entries, Grade 9’s “Romeo and Juliet” from cluster A and Grade 12’s “Dekada ’70” from cluster B emerged as the Best Musical Production.

| As the foundation week continues, the second day of the 59th Founding Anniversary celebration was filled with cheers of excitement and joy, kicking off with the Parade of Characters by the High School department, showcasing the talent that embodies their creativity and group effort for their respective musicals.

Including the generational and meaningful performances by the Elementary students starting from the 60's, followed by the exhilarating zumba initiatives by the Grade 12 students and The Familian Dance Groove, creating fond memories for everyone who attended.

| HFSQCI's first day of the 59th founding anniversary thrived with music and fun as a mass was held in the morning, followed by zumba exercises along with the ML tournament and activities such as the booth games, bazaar, and rides.

By the evening, music and instruments sung with passion as another Battle of the Bands was successfully held at the Familian court. Each band came from different schools: The Muzeos from CSQC, Tanawin from MCSNQCI, the SJC band from SJCQC, Mad about Madeline from UST, and last but not least, the HFSQCI’s very own band, Ragnaröck.
