Philippine Man Teaches Children Entrepreneurship, Replacing Handouts with Opportunity

A viral video from the Philippines shows a man teaching a group of children how to start a small business after they approached him asking for money.

Instead of providing cash, the man gave one child two pieces of bread and instructed him to sell them. The boy returned with 50 Philippine pesos (about $1) and was told to reinvest the earnings to buy more inventory. The group repeated the cycle, gradually expanding their stock and profits.

When asked by a bystander if they were begging, one child confidently replied, "No." Another child referenced their new sales role, saying, "He said, 'Please buy...'"

The video, posted by Benj Camanian Paquibot on Facebook, ends with the children having established a sustainable means to earn money. The man provided an initial investment and a foundational lesson in entrepreneurship.

The Cebu Ports Authority on Tuesday, 25 November 2025, announced the resumption of several sea routes following the passage of Typhoon Verbena, providing critical relief to stranded passengers and cargo operations.

Multiple shipping lines have restarted voyages from Cebu City to various destinations in the Visayas and Mindanao regions after the weather disturbance cleared.

The following trips resumed as of Nov. 25, 2025:

· Roble Shipping Lines: Hilongos at 9 p.m.; Ormoc at 10 p.m.
· Trans Asia Shipping Lines: Cagayan De Oro City at 8 p.m.
· FastCat: Tubigon, Bohol.

The CPA later issued an update with additional resumed trips:

· Starcraft: Tubigon at 4:30 p.m. and 6:45 p.m.
· Gabisan Shipping Lines: Hilongos at 9 p.m.
· Starlite Ferries: Surigao at 9 p.m.
· Weesam Express: Tubigon at 5 p.m.

A subsequent advisory added further resumptions:

· 2GO Travel: Cagayan De Oro at 7 p.m. (1900H).
· Medallion Transport: Dipolog City at 8:30 p.m. (2030H).

Travelers are advised to contact the shipping lines directly or check with the Cebu Port Authority for the latest schedules and booking availability, as conditions remain subject to change. The CPA cautioned that some routes may still experience delays due to residual sea conditions and port congestion.

The resumption of service marks a significant step in restoring normalcy to maritime travel and commerce after the typhoon forced a multi-day suspension of operations across the central Philippines.
