IF YOU WANT TO BE SUCCESFUL, YOU NEED TO GO OUT FROM YOUR HOMETOWN ONCE IN A WHILE.
Here's why:
Your hometown CAN BE your comfort zone.
Everything that you need is there.
Family, friends, community that you grew up with.
While there's nothing wrong with that, but in most cases (not all), staying at your hometown limits your growth.
It becomes your comfort zone.
Have you ever heard of the story of THE BOILING FROG SYNDROME?
Here it goes.
Once the frog fell in a vessel of the hot water.
The water was still on a gas stove.
The frog still did not try to jump out of the vessel.
Instead, the frog just stayed in it.
As the temperature of the water started to rise,
the frog managed to adjust its body temperature accordingly.
But as the water started to reach the boiling point,
the frog was no longer able to keep up and manage its body temperature according to the water temperature.
The frog tried to jump out of the vessel but with water temperature reaching its boiling point ...
The frog DIED.
Because it's too late already for him to jump out.
What's the lesson of the story?
The frog died because it chose to stay.
And because of its own inability to decide WHEN IT HAD TO JUMP OUT.
It's pretty much the same with us people.
Yes, may mga situations where we need to adjust accordingly.
Dapat naman yon.
But there are times when we need to face the situation and take the appropriate action.
Lalo na kapag wala ng growth.
Or if it limits you and your growth.
We need to leave or jump out, while we have the strength to do so.
BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE.
Our dreams DIE when we became too comfortable with our comfort zone.
"Okay na ko dito."
"Hanggang dito na lang ako."
Naalala ko yung isang preaching na narinig ko before.
The enemy of the bad is not the best.
But good.
Once you feel good already.
It's hard to jump out.
It's hard to leave.
Especially if everything else is good already.
But where's the growth in that?
E diba sabe nila be contented with what you have for you to be happy?
Yes, that's correct. Dapat naman talaga.
But contentment is different from satisfaction.
Be contented with what you have.
Your blessings. Your talents.
Your family. Your relationships.
Be grateful and be contented.
But always have a hunger for growth.
So you can reach your fullest potential.
So you can serve your life's purpose.
Alam mo ba na maraming namamatay na lang without realizing kung ano ba talaga ang purpose nila sa buhay?
Simply because they chose to stay in their comfort zone.
Whether it's your hometown or your workplace
Or any other place.
When there's no growth anymore.
Your comfort zone can be the most dangerous place.
So you need to walk out before you need to jump.
Don't let your dreams die with you as you grow old.
Go out. Jump out.
Fly high.
And reach your fullest potential.
Or else, you'll die.
