Comedian and TV host Vice Ganda is facing backlash from supporters of former President Rodrigo Duterte, also known as “DDS,” after referencing the International Criminal Court (ICC) in one of his comedic skits during his recent concert with Regine Velasquez at the Araneta Coliseum.
In the skit, Vice quipped:
“Nothing beats a jetski holiday, right now from Manila to West Philippines Sea by jetski, get unlimited water b0mb1ng from Chinese vessels and free trip to the Hague via ICC. Promo applies to DDS only, Pinklawans and BBMs are prohibited. Wag nyo ako subukan mga pu*****na nyo.”
The joke, which made light of political issues involving the ICC and territorial disputes in the West Philippine Sea, quickly sparked outrage among Duterte loyalists. Many took to Vice Ganda’s social media pages to express their anger.
One commenter wrote:
“Karma awaits you and your whole family.”
Another warned:
“Ready to go to hell Vice… Ingat ka palagi. Thank you so much for mocking our tatay living hero. We will wait to turn the table.”
Others criticized him for allegedly using Duterte as material for entertainment, with one saying:
“Imagine needing an old man in jail to make your concert interesting 👊👊👊.”
Vice Ganda has not yet issued a statement in response to the controversy, but the incident has reignited debates online about freedom of speech, comedy boundaries, and political sensitivities.
