Eight films are in contention to become the Philippinesโ official entry to the Best International Feature Film category of the 99th Academy Awards. The films were chosen from local submissions for consideration announced by the Film Academy of the Philippines on June 18 during its Byaheng Oscars press conference.
The contenders are Carl Joseph E. Papaโs 58th; Jade Castroโs All the Things I Leave You (Patawid); Rafael Manuelโs Filipiรฑana; Sigrid Andrea P. Bernardoโs IโmPerfect; Raymond Redโs Manilaโs Finest; Jerrold Tarogโs Quezon; Lawrence Fajardoโs Silenced Nights; and Jun Robles Lanaโs Sisa.
For a film to qualify for consideration, submitted entries must meet the eligibility requirements of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), including a minimum seven-day consecutive theatrical run with paid admission in one commercial cinema in the Philippines, completed between October 1, 2025 and September 30, 2026. Films must also be feature-length, have predominantly non-English dialogue with English subtitles, and meet AMPAS requirements on creative control, format, and prior non-theatrical release.
The Philippinesโ official entry will be announced in a media conference soon.
