De La Salle University head coach Topex Robinson hopes the UAAP reconsiders its decision on the suspension of Wello Lingolingo.

Lingolingo was handed a three-game suspension following an unsportsmanlike foul on Kean Baclaan, which resulted in Baclaan being stretchered off the court during the UE vs. La Salle matchup last Wednesday.

The UE star was eventually ejected from the game, having also received a technical foul earlier in the said match. Baclaan, meanwhile, was ruled out of the season due to the knee injury.

In his post-game interview Sunday after La Salle's 72-69 win against University of the Philippines, Robinson shared that he and Baclaan had discussed the incident involving Lingolingo.

Mapua University’s Clint Escamis has been struggling offensively in the past few games.

While he had a 29-point explosion against Arellano University in their second game of the season, his stats show a dip in scoring. Escamis is currently averaging just 9.8 points per game, far from the 15.44 points he averaged last season.

In addition, the Season 99 Most Valuable Player is averaging 3.0 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 1.8 steals per game.

Against San Beda University, where the Cardinals lost 79-70, Escamis was limited to just two points, going 0-of-5 from the field in around 24 minutes of action. He added three assists, two rebounds, and one steal.

In their 70-49 win over San Sebastián College-Recoletos, Escamis was again limited, scoring only four points on 1-of-6 shooting in 22 minutes. However, he contributed seven assists, five rebounds, and two steals.

In their loss to the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA, Escamis scored six points on 3-of-13 from the field, but managed to dish out six assists in more than 27 minutes.

While Escamis is aware that off-nights happen, he said is doing his best to contribute in other ways when his shots aren’t falling.

De La Salle head coach Topex Robinson could not help but reflect after guiding the Green Archers to a much-needed morale boosting win over defending champion UP Fighting Maroons.

On Sunday, the La Salle tactician made it clear that they were not to be counted out despite the setbacks they have been subjected to for the past couple of weeks.

The roller coaster campaign saw the Taft side lose Mason Amos and Kean Baclaan to similar knee injuries in their games against National University and University of the East, respectively.

Now sitting at a 4-3 record in the standings, Robinson emphasized that the team has made it their mission to make Amos and Baclaan’s time in La Salle worthwhile.
