The Philippine Sports Commission congratulates 17-year-old Zach Sales Ramin, who championed at the 53rd Singapore International Open last Saturday - emerging as the first male Filipino bowler to rule this tournament since 1965.
The very promising teen, a son of Filipino migrants in Singapore, is currently in our National Youth Training Pool.
PSC Commissioner and bowling legend Olivia “Bong” Coo arrived in Singapore to grace the event and personally support Ramin in his stint. Our lady commissioner was the only Filipina to win the said international event back-to-back.

Ipinakilala na ni Xander Ford a.k.a. Marlou Arizala ang kanyang bagong silang na baby boy na si Xeres Isaiah.

Red onion costs P250 per kilo till January 1, says DA

In response to the soaring costs of red onions in local retailers, the Department of Agriculture (DA) issued an order Thursday capping the price of red onions in Metro Manila wet markets at P250 per kilogram (kg) until the first week of January.

The Agricultural Circular No. 12 was approved and published by Senior Undersecretary Domingo F. Panganiban of the Department of Agriculture.

There is a “need to guide the consuming public on the reasonable prices of basic necessities in the market.” the DA issued the following directive.

According to the agricultural department, the duration of the effectiveness period is up for discussion at a later meeting of interested parties.

According to the DA's price monitoring report, as of December 29 the price of locally grown red onions ranged from as low as P540 per kg to as high as P700 per kg at markets in the National Capital Region.

However, imported onions fetched a price of P600 per kilogram.
These figures represented a more than tripling of its selling price from its 2021 low of P180 to P220 per kilogram.
