**BELSHAZZAR WITNESSES THE FALL OF BABYLON**

Just hours earlier, Belshazzar was celebrating inside his palace.

He felt secure.

He trusted his kingdom.

Then the Medes and Persians entered Babylon.

The great city that seemed untouchable was falling.

And Daniel's warning had already been given:

**“God hath numbered thy kingdom, and finished it.”**
— Daniel 5:26

Belshazzar had power, wealth, and a mighty kingdom.

But none of it could protect him from the consequences of pride.

**DANIEL REMINDS BELSHAZZAR OF NEBUCHADNEZZAR**

Daniel stood before Belshazzar and reminded him of a lesson his own kingdom had already witnessed.

Nebuchadnezzar had been powerful, proud, and exalted.

But God humbled him.

Belshazzar **knew the story**—yet he refused to humble himself.

Daniel's message was clear:

**Knowing what God has done is not enough. We must respond to what we know.**

**DANIEL SPEAKS BEFORE BELSHAZZAR**

Daniel was summoned before the most powerful man in Babylon.

Belshazzar offered him rewards if he could explain the mysterious writing.

But Daniel wasn't interested in the king's gifts.

He had something more important to deliver:

**The truth.**

Daniel reminded Belshazzar that God had humbled Nebuchadnezzar—and yet Belshazzar still chose pride.

**“But you did not honor the God who holds in his hand your life and all your ways.”**

He wasn't intimidated.

He simply stood before power and spoke the truth.

**BELSHAZZAR SEARCHES FOR AN INTERPRETER**

The writing appeared on the wall.

The king was terrified.

His wise men had no answer.

So Belshazzar desperately searched for someone who could explain the message.

Then the queen mother remembered **Daniel**—a man known for wisdom and understanding from God.

He was summoned because **when everyone else had no answer, there was still a man who knew God.**

And Daniel wasn't coming to flatter the king.

He was coming to tell him the truth.

Belshazzar had the palace. The power. The wealth. The celebration.

But he made one foolish mistake: **he treated what belonged to God as if it were ordinary.**

He ordered the sacred vessels from Jerusalem to be brought to his feast—and used them to honor false gods.

The party continued… until God interrupted it.

**DANIEL AND THE DISHONEST OFFICERS**

The Bible tells us that Daniel's enemies could find **no corruption or negligence in him**. They eventually realized that the only way to bring him down was through his faithfulness to God. 📖 Daniel 6:4–5

This short imagines what **may have happened behind the scenes**—dishonest officers trying to pressure Daniel into compromising his integrity.

They couldn't find anything wrong with his work.

So they looked for a way to make his integrity work against him.

**Sometimes, when people can't attack your character, they attack your convictions.**

Stay faithful—even when doing what is right makes you stand alone.

**DANIEL AND THE LAW OF MEN**

Sometimes obeying God means refusing to obey a human command.

Not because Daniel was rebellious.

But because he knew **who deserved his highest obedience.**

When the law forbade prayer to God, Daniel did not change his convictions.

**“We ought to obey God rather than men.”**
