In the Figure below, we compare crawl times for Drosophila groups with a Normal Group (dashed blue line) or with a Weakened Group (solid blue line) neural function. The crawl times were measured in seconds that the Drosophila took to crawl from the bottom of a test tube to the top as a function of age. As expected, all Drosophila groups take longer to crawl up the side of the tube as a function of increasing age. Just like humans, Drosophila move slower with age. One can also see that the Weakened Group has much slower crawl times as a function of age. However, if we treat the Weakened Group with Memex 100+TM, the Memex-treated Weakened Group (solid red line) had nearly as fast crawl times at each age as did the Normal Control Group. These assays are significant, as the plotted lines are the averages of 200 individuals for each of the 3 groups (100 individuals of each s*x).
The above results are dramatic and show that Memex 100+TM is potent in normalizing neural function in Drosophila. In addition most of the individual components in Memex 100+TM have shown efficacy in improving human neural functions in studies published in peer reviewed journals.

Serving Size: One type O capsule
Servings Per Container: 60 Capsules
Recommended Use: Typical usage of Memex 100+TM is two capsules per day, preferably at meal times. While both capsules can be taken at the same time, it is preferable to separate the two capsules by at least 4 hours. Since Memex 100+TM is a potent formulation, do not take more than three capsules per day or two capsules of Memex 100+TM and one capsule of Stem Cell 100TM One capsule per day of Memex 100+TM may be sufficient for those below 110 pounds.
Recommended Users: Anyone from ages 22 and up could benefit from Memex 100+TM. Those in their 20s and 30s will like the boost in endurance during sports or exercise, while older users will notice better energy, memory, and coordination.
Active Ingredients: Memex 100+TM is made using a patent-pending combination of natural ingredients. The herbal components are highly extracted natural herbs that are standardized for active components that promote neuronal function, adult stem cells, and help maintain a healthy level of inflammation:
1) Astragalus membranaceus root is one of the main essential components. In traditional Chinese medicine Astragalus is considered a true tonic that can strengthen debilitated patients and increase resistance in general. Modern herbal treatments with Astragalus membranaceus root (often in concert with other herbs) are used to enhance immunity and to help in wound healing. Astragalus contains several compounds that are active on genes that we and others have identified to promote longevity and neural function. For example, mTOR (mammalian Target of Rapamycin) is inhibited by astragalus extracts. The mTOR protein is involved in cell autophagy (the cellular waste system) and mTOR inhibition is reported to extend lifespan in mice and flies. As long lived non-dividing cells, neurons are dependent on healthy levels of cell autophagy. Astragalus also inhibits Microtubule Star (PP2A), which is a protein phosphatase that alters tau phosphorylation levels and can affect memory and brain function. Microtubule Star is strongly linked to longevity and neuronal function in our genetic and machine learning screens.
2) Gastrodia elata tuber. Extracts of Gastrodia elata are inhibitors of the neurotransmitter acetylcholinesterase, which is an excitatory neural transmitter in the brain that is essential to cognition, hormone secretion, wakefulness, attentiveness, s*xuality, and muscle contraction. Gastrodia elata has long been used in Chinese Traditional Medicine in nervous system disorders and is known to increase vascular circulation and GABA levels in the brain. GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid) is an inhibitory neuro transmitter that affects many brain functions such as anxiety and stress levels, motor control, and vision. Gastrodia elata also reduces brain inflammation, which genetic data suggest is critical to optimizing brain cell function and regeneration.
3) Schisandra chinensis berry extract has been important in Chinese traditional medicine as an ?adaptogen? for stress resistance, longevity, and increasing energy, physical performance, and endurance. Schisandra extracts reduce TNF-alpha, IL-1B, IL-6, Abeta, and cortisol to suppress neural inflammation. Schisandra also induces the protective Nrf2 and HO-1 genes to promote cholinergic signaling. These pathways are all strongly linked to longevity in our genetic and machine-learning screens and to neuronal function though the current literature.
4) Vaccinium uliginosum has positive effects on increasing the insulin sensitivity pathway and reducing the inflammatory factors TNF-alpha and the prostaglandin PGE2. The herb has a history as a medicinal in Chinese traditional medicine to treat diabetes, bladder problems, and swelling of the lining of the stomach and intestines. The extracts of Vaccinium uliginosum berries are highly enriched for their flavonoids (the active ingredients).
5) Berberine is a natural polyphenolic compound that is found in the Chinese herb Rhizoma coptidis and many other medicinal plants. Berberine is an essential component, as it interacts with neural proteins like tau and amyloid proteins and the neurotransmitter acetylcholine. These pathways are strongly linked to longevity in our genetic and machine-learning screens and to neuronal function though the current literature.
6) L-Theanine is a natural amino acid from Camellia sinesis that reduces mental stress and inflammation while improving cognition and protecting brain cells from ischemic or toxic injury. L-theanine alters novel longevity and neuronal genes identified in our genetic and machine-learning screens. Some of the targeted genes are trans-membrane proteins involved in the neuronal uptake of glutamate in the glutamatergic neurotransmitter signaling. Theanine is an analog of glutamine that can cross the blood-brain barrier, so it has direct effects on the brain. Among its psychoactive properties, L-Theanine is reported to reduce metal stress and improved cognition and mood via its expected binding to the GABA brain receptors in the parasympathetic nervous system. Thus L-Theanine appears to increase the overall level of the brain inhibitory transmitter GABA and is reported to promote alpha wave production in the brain. L-Theanine also affects the expression of Excitatory Amino Acid Transporters (EAATs), which are novel longevity and neuronal target genes identified in our genetic and machine-learning screens. L-Theanine also increases brain dopamine concentrations and has significant affinities for the AMPA, Kainate, and NMDA receptors. The AMPA receptor is a non-NMDA trans-membrane receptor for glutamate that mediates fast synaptic transmission in the central nervous system. Kainate receptors are non-NMDA receptors that respond to the neurotransmitter glutamate, which have been implicated in inhibitory neurotransmission via promoting the release of the inhibitory neurotransmitter GABA. The NMDA receptor is a glutamate receptor and helps control memory and synaptic plasticity. L-Theanine may also have positive effects on serotonin levels. In rats, L-Theanine has been neuroprotective.
7) Astrogaloside IV is a high-dose purified major active component of Astragalus and is synergistic with the wide spectrum extract of Astragalus membranaceus as our first ingredient. Astragaloside IV is the most potent active ingredient naturally present in astragalus.
8)Genistein is a phytoestrogen isoflavone that binds the Estrogen Receptor, which ia linked to longevity and neuronal function in our genetic and machine learning screens. Genistein also down regulates beta-amyloid, glut-1 and presenilin, which help promote healthy brain function. Genistein is also reported to increase autophagy (the cellular waste system), PPAR, and the Nrf-2 antioxidant response. All of these additional gene functions promote longevity and neural function.
9) BioPerine is purified piperine isolated from black pepper extract. All of the other components are made more bioavailable by the inclusion of small amounts of BioPerine?. Besides providing greater bioavailability, piperine is also reported to improve memory in a rat animal model.
10) Lithium (as Lithium orotate) is added as an important trace mineral. Lithium promotes several genetic pathways that are important for longevity and neuronal function. For example, lithium promotes NCS-1/Frequenin that codes a calcium-binding protein involved in neurotransmitter release. Other important neural pathways affected by lithium include autophagy, tau phosphorylation, and neural transmitter breakdown by acetylcholinesterase. These are very important pathways for neural function. Lithium has been added at a very low dose, which our testing showed extended longevity while minimizing potential side effects.
11 ) Selenium (as a selenium amino acid complex) promotes major genes involved in longevity and neural function. For example, Selenium promotes the Pre-mRNA-Processing splicing Factor 8 (PRPF8) and Excision Repair Cross-Complementing 1 (ERCC1), which were identified by Genescient as major targets in their genetic pathway studies on longevity and neural function. PRP8 plays an essential role in cellular message processing, while ERCC1 is important for genetic repair. Both these basic processes can decline with age. Selenium is also a cofactor in many selenoproteins, which can help promote aluminum detoxification.
12) Methyl B-12 and Methyl Folate work together as the active methylated forms of Vitamin B-12 and Folic Acid. The active methylated forms of these essential vitamins are typically not present in food and many people are deficient in the methylated form of Folate or B-12 with age, leading to neurological dysfunction. It has been estimated that some 40% of Americans have only one active gene for converting dietary Folate to the active methyl folate form and 10% of Americans lack both active methyl converting genes.
