IN PHOTOS: PSHS-MC celebrates World Teachers’ Day

Students of the PSHS-MC honored their teachers through a series of heartfelt activities in celebration of World Teachers’ Day.

From October 6 to 7, students took part in Salitan, an annual tradition where selected students stepped into the role of their teachers for a day. The activity allowed students to experience both the responsibilities and challenges of teaching.

One of the student teachers from Batch 2027 shared that the experience provided insights into the demanding yet fulfilling nature of teaching, saying that “Pisay teachers don’t just grade our papers or make activities, but they consistently have to create opportunities for us to question our surroundings and develop a more nuanced understanding of the world.”

The celebration continued on October 8, as students surprised their teachers with gifts and handwritten cards.

To our beloved teachers, you have shaped how each of us thinks, questions, and engages with our world. Through your lessons, we have learned that beyond STEM's precision and humanities’ depth, there exists vision and purpose. You have shown us that equations and formulas can describe systems as much as they can reveal the truth about people, and that integrity and excellence matter the most when they are embodied in serving others.

From the classrooms where we learned to see patterns and analyze data, to the discussions that inspired us to see the people behind the numbers, your influence shows in how we think and what we choose to stand for. It's a reminder to all of us that learning is not neutral, and every insight we gain from our classes carries a responsibility to serve beyond the classroom and ignite change, even in the smallest ways.

On behalf of The Science Scholar, thank you for guiding us toward a kind of learning that serves not just knowledge, but the nation.

"We all have different, but nonetheless valid, reasons to be resentful of the government and the system, so who are we to decide which way of seeking justice is the right one? Sino tayo para husgahan kung tama o mali ba ang pagpapahayag nila ng galit kung hindi naman tayo ang nakararanas ng hirap nila, lalo na kung wala naman tayong solusyon na maiaabot sa kanila? Dapat nga ba natin silang husgahan? Sino ba ang pinaglalaban natin?"
