'PINANINDIGAN DIN NAMAN AKO NG ASAWA KO' π₯Ή
In an honest interview on TicTalk with Aster Amoyo, Regine Velasquez opened up about her controversial relationship with Ogie Alcasid β how they faced judgment and the pain of starting off in a complicated situation.
Regine: "It was the people judging us that was difficult. And since I was in the business I was heavily judged. Malaking scandalo yun eh."
Ogie was still married to Michelle van Eimeren then, but already going through serious marital problems. Regine admitted they started in a painful situation.
Regine: "Andaming beses naming naghiwalay kasi ayoko na. I don't wanna ruin their family. 'Kawawa ang mga anak mo' parang ganun. Pero ayaw niya. Mamamatay daw siya. Kasi parang decided na siya na he really wanted to be with me."
But Ogie stood by her. He chose to end his marriage the right way before starting a new chapter with Regine.
Regine: "Pinanindigan din naman ako ng asawa ko. Nung naging kami, nakipaghiwalay na siya para tama. Tinama din naman niya yung life niya kasi ayaw din naman niya ng ganon lang. But it was a difficult time."
When asked what makes her emotional, Regine said:
"Iyakin ako...pero most of the time pag naaalala ko ang asawa ko. Mahal na mahal ko yung asawa ko...I love being with my husband. Sa totoo lang, nakakatawa talaga kami. Tawa lang kami ng tawa. Wala akong araw na hindi ako tumatawa. I appreciate my husband so much.
Today, Ogie and Michelle maintain a peaceful co-parenting setup, while Regine has grown close with his daughters. A story once seen as scandalous is now a powerful example of healing and blended family love.
Regine: "Doon sa mga couples na naka experience ng hindi agad nagkakapatawaran, mas lalong mahihirapan yung mga bata eh...Pwede naman pala to have a relationship with the "ex". You just have to be more open, to be more forgiving and willing to have a relationship."
