A half-day hike to the breathtaking Zim-Sim-Ug Falls, immersing with local fisherfolk, dancing under the golden summer sun, falling in love with century-old vinegar jars, and chasing the last light to capture the perfect beach sunset—each frame a tribute to the beauty and soul of Bacnotan, La Union
Lucky for us, Jairo, our newly onboarded production crew member, was there to preserve it all—transforming fleeting moments into timeless stories.

"Three Days. One Vision. A Love Letter to Bacnotan."
This film was created by AAT Film Productions, and pulling off this shoot in just three days was no easy feat. We arrived in Bacnotan on Day 1, with only that day for our ocular visit—many of the locations we were set to film, we hadn’t even seen yet. But with the support of Mayor Divine Fontanilla, Bacnotan MOPI, and the Tourism Office, we mapped out a plan and trusted the process.
Day 2 felt like a jam session. We were feeling out the locations, finding the best angles, and adjusting on the fly. With a lean team, everyone was multitasking—switching between directing, shooting, assisting—but we captured as much as we could.
Then came Day 3. Crunch time. Every second mattered, and we were racing against the sun to capture the final shots before sunset. The pressure was on, but we made it.
And now, seeing the locals embrace it, receiving heartfelt messages of appreciation—it makes all the challenges worth it. This is the magic of filmmaking. We fall in love with a place, a story, a moment, and we have this urge to share it.
This is our love letter to Bacnotan, La Union. Thank you to everyone who helped make this happen. And if you ever have the chance, visit Bacnotan—you just might fall in love with it too. ❤️🎥

Film Stills: A Story of Strength and Survival
As swept through Tuguegarao, Estela Gannaban Tumbali and her family had no choice but to leave behind their home—and generations of memories. But resilience runs deep.
With support from UNICEF Philippines and Department of Social Welfare and Development - DSWD, Estela turned hardship into hope, using cash assistance to provide for her children and rebuild through a small business. A testament to the strength of Indigenous communities facing the realities of climate change.

Part 2:
Produced for UNICEF Philippines, this story takes us to Tuguegarao, where I met Estela Gannaban Tumbali, a 25-year-old from the Agta tribe. As brought flash floods and landslides, her family was forced to evacuate, leaving behind not just their home, but generations of memories.
With cash assistance from UNICEF and DSWD, Estela was able to provide food, school supplies, and even restart a small business—turning survival into a step toward recovery. A powerful testament to the resilience of Indigenous communities facing climate disasters.

Part 1: Meeting a parent leader who rose to the challenge during Typhoons Kristine and Pepito, proving that resilience begins at home.

This project pushed my limits as a documentary filmmaker—solo shooting a story is already a feat, but adding a 13-hour hike up and down the mountains of Sarangani and Davao to follow the remarkable journey of Len Cabili and the artistry of the Tagkaulo community took it to another level.
The warmth of the people, their inspiring cultural heritage, and yes, their unforgettable rice coffee made every step worth it. I’ll always carry these stories and memories with me. Huge thanks to Iya Forbes for letting me tag along and capturing these moments that remind me why I do what I do.
These BTS photos give a glimpse of the incredible work that went into documenting this piece of history, culture, and resilience. 🎥
