Every year the Christmas story is retold in a thousand permutations, in literally millions of locations.

It all started with a young virgin, Mary. She lived with family in Nazareth. We know Nazareth is a by word for forgettable—“Can anything good come out of Nazareth.” It is hardly an auspicious beginning when the least-known and least-likely person coming from an out of the way town that is considered essentially of no value is chosen.

God chooses the unlikely, the least qualified, the most aware of their shortcomings; sinners make the best saints. In his Kingdom worldly advantage and pomp is trumped by simple obedience and wonder.

God reminds us of the vast difference between His thoughts and ways compared to our limited human understanding. While we may struggle to comprehend the complexities of life and divine plans, God sees the bigger picture. His thoughts and ways are infinitely higher and wiser than ours.

To follow Jesus means to embrace a perspective that is often different from our own. Reflect on times when you may have tried to understand God's plan through your limited viewpoint.

He knows, we don't. Trust His purpose. ✨

Stay in God's purpose! 🙏❤️

The only way to sustain our walk in obedience is by continuing to submit and devote ourselves to the Lord, not just in times when the voice of the enemy comes in opposition but also in times when things seem to be going well.

Our dependency upon His power and strength does not fluctuate based on our circumstances. Consider what your praise looks like when things are going well and what it looks like when things aren’t going well.

Seek Him. Pay attention to Him. Devote yourself to speaking His Word. Everything else will come.

You can do it. You can run and not grow weary. 😊

When we are so focused on what we don’t have and can’t change, we are likely to become discontent.

Longing for something doesn’t mean never finding rest for your soul. Contentment is an inward trust that God is both good and in control of your life, even when you wish your outward circumstances were different.

Contentment means living in God’s fullness.

It is possible to be content in Christ and still desire for something to be different.

To fully enjoy life is to completely put your trust to The One who holds your future - Jesus Christ!

If you're feeling “behind” today, remember that:

God is writing a story that is unique to YOU. It may not be the story you want, and it may not be in the timing you want, but He is not leaving you behind.

Over and over, the Bible shows us He has not forgotten us. Like Romans 8:28 says, whatever He is working out behind the scenes is for your good and His glory. 💜
