And with that, the 2024 season comes to an end and it’s time to usher in a brand new sparkling year!✨
Goodbye and thank you 2024! 💝
Welcome 2025! 🎉
Another big milestone for FBN Media. 🏆
We shot an independent feature film and pitch a film abroad.
Started the first quarter with our Cine Panalo film entry, A Lab Story by Carlo Obispo. We won Audience Choice and Puregold Always Panalo Award. This crew is a fun bunch they called themselves Team Iced Kopi. Yes, they drink gallons of coffee instead of water.
From teen love story to mature content. After months, planning, pitches, and approval. We line produced VMX film, Boss Ma’am by Iar Arondaing premiered last November. It was smooth project over all. Congrats team! 🎊
Simultaneously, we are preparing our visas for our location scout in Seoul for our next film with Carlo Obispo again for It’s Me, Jin Hae.
We did our ocular in July and shot the film in October to first week of November. 🇰🇷🎥
We really learned a lot working with an international production company, Filmline, headed by their lead producer, Kim Hyeojong. We somehow got a macro view of how the Korean movie business works and operates, their standards and exceptions, and working culture.
We squeezed in a digital content ad, entitled Buenas, starring Valeen Montenegro and Boss Toyo. Thank you direk Sol Garcia. We got to work with a new DP, the talented Riel Manuel. We also applied for the ASC permit, which is a first for us, but we did it anyway. Yay!! 🎉
Got an opportunity to co-produce a Cinemalaya 2025 film, Child No. 82 by Tim Rone Villanueva. Attended the DGPI one day workshop and pitching event. We won the CMB Equipment grant and ABSCBN Best Film Pitch.
By June or July, we got the opportunity to handle a new project/challenge, an international co-production feature film, The Boy and the Fight of Spiders, debut film of Jarell Serencio. The film is in advanced script development stage in the TorinoFilmLab. By November, the director and producer must both pitch the film in public in Turin, Italy. Luckily, we bagged a major award, one of the TFL Production Grants. Thank you to our TFL fam and all the amazing mentors, fellows and organizers. What an amazing experience! 🇮🇹❤️
In between, we develop concepts and prepares numerous dossiers for pitching, attends multiple meetings, online and face to face meetings with producers, writers, and directors.
What a busy year for us but we are beyond grateful for the all the opportunities and lessons.
This year, we’ll continue the grind, work better and work smarter.
Big THANK YOU to all the producers, agencies, technical crew, staff, suppliers, writers, and directors who continue to believe and gamble in our humble production company.
You are all part of our growth. 🌱❤️🩹
