2025 Memorial Service at the Japanese Memorial Garden

On August 15, the Embassy of Japan in the Philippines held a memorial service for the war dead at the Japanese Memorial Garden in Caliraya, Laguna. Approximately 250 people from Japanese related groups, Japanese descendants related groups, The Japan War-Bereaved Association, the Philippines government and others attended the ceremony this year.

The ceremony commenced with the singing of the national anthems of Japan and the Philippines by the Japanese Association Manila Choir, followed by a moment of silence observed by all attendees. The reading of memorial messages followed afterwards.

Memorial Messages were delivered by Prime Minister ISHIBA Shigeru and President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. In addition, memorial addresses were presented by Eiji Morikawa, Secretary General of the Japan War-Bereaved Association, and Kazunori Okamoto, President of the Japanese Association Manila, representing the Japanese community in the Philippines.

Following the floral tributes by all attendees, Ambassador Endo concluded the ceremony with a closing address to pay tribute to the war dead and victims. On this 80th anniversary of the war, he emphasized the importance of remembering the devastation of war and the preciousness of peace and ensuring that the memories of these tragedies are never allowed to fade and that this legacy is passed on. He also reaffirmed his commitment to further strengthening the friendship between Japan and the Philippines.

Japan’s Shinkansen bullet trains are equipped with one of the most advanced seismic detection systems in the world. When an earthquake is detected, trains can stop in just 2 seconds, depending on speed and track conditions.

The system uses an extensive sensor network to detect seismic activity before surface waves hit, allowing automated emergency braking. It has saved countless lives during past quakes, including the 2011 Tohoku disaster.

This high-speed safety innovation reflects Japan’s unmatched blend of technology, precision, and disaster preparedness.

Here’s a game-changing tip to make your Japan trip even more unforgettable! 🇯🇵

Japan is known worldwide for its incredible onsens (hot springs), and trust me, they’re an experience you have to try. Not only are they incredibly relaxing, but they also offer tons of health benefits. 🛁✨ But what if you can’t fit a trip to an onsen into your busy itinerary or they're just too far from your other plans? 😅

I’ve got the perfect solution: Onsen Powder! 🌿

This onsen powder is the real deal, certified and approved by Japan’s famous onsens. It’s a perfect way to unwind after a day of sightseeing in Tokyo or Osaka, especially since most hotels and Airbnb rentals come with a bathtub. 🏨

I've been using this for years, and honestly, it’s amazing how closely it replicates the authentic onsen experience – from the natural mineral scent to the soothing warmth. You can easily grab this from any local drugstore or grocery store in Japan for just 600 yen (that's for 14 different onsen experiences in one box!) 😍💸

Can’t find it? No worries – just show the staff this photo! 👍 Plus, you can even bring the leftover packs home with you. Bonus: it’s safe for babies over 3 months old too! 🍼

If you’re looking to experience Japan’s onsens without the hassle, this is your secret weapon. Trust me, you’ll love it!
