I used to think unanswered prayers were a sign that something was wrong with me or with the way I prayed.
There were nights I whispered, “Lord, did You hear me?”
Days I waited for the thing I thought was best for me.
Moments I cried over closed doors that I desperately wanted to walk through.
But looking back now?
Some of the greatest mercies in my life came disguised as unanswered prayers.
I prayed for opportunities I thought I was ready for.
But the silence was deafening.
Only to later find that God was leading me to something so much better..
a yes that came with peace and purpose.
I asked for things with limited sight.
God answered with eternal vision.
What felt like silence,
was actually a setup.
And what seemed like unanswered prayers,
were prayers that God answered… just in ways I didn’t expect.
Because He didn’t give me what I wanted.
He gave me what I needed.
And eventually, I saw:
His “no” was actually a “yes” to something far better.
Better timing.
Better alignment.
Better healing.
Better versions of what I thought I had to settle for.
So now, when I face another door that won’t open or when I don’t get the reply I hoped for, I remind myself:
If God is saying no,
He must be protecting something beautiful.
If He’s saying not yet,
He must be preparing something precious.
And if He’s silent,
He’s probably working on something that requires my full trust.
Because sometimes,
the prayers that go unanswered
are the ones that lead us to the answers we never would’ve thought to ask for.
