⭐ CHAPBOOK FEATURE: We Can't Go Home by Miguel Agcaoili

📖: We Can’t Go Home is a collection of poetry torn in its own titular meaning, lending itself to how remembrance is a shifting negotiation of the past and the present, inevitably the future. Is We Can’t Go Home the resolve to escape the painful past, or is We Can’t Go Home an admittance of longing for a home that no longer exists no matter how much we remember of it?

⭐ CHAPBOOK FEATURE: We cannot leave without hoping to return. by Julia Hao

📖: We cannot leave without hoping to return is an earnest attempt to fossilize memories of leaving into a collection of lyric essays and photographs that can otherwise be seen as a memoir. Parted into four movements, it is a mapping of the trajectories of Julia Hao’s life, through reflections on the childhood home, the wounds inflicted by mothers on their daughters, the embracing of grief, and the acts of love and hope that transpire from it. In its coda, there is only the consummation of nostalgia — a wholeness — that claims no permanence, yet offers a consolation only found in the covalence of the forces that govern our most brutal and intimate experiences.

⭐ CHAPBOOK FEATURE: we are here and okay by M Dofitas

📖: we are here and okay. tries to gather the fleeting moments of warmth found in jinxes, sleepovers, and inside jokes into a poetry collection. It will succeed, yet still find itself clinging onto those memories, setting on this chapter of life. The vocabulary to describe that love has to be invented, and the roots of this pain discovered in half-eaten hash browns. Here is my attempt at doing so. Sit, and have a soda with me.

⭐ CHAPBOOK FEATURE: To Make A God by Miguel Fermin

📖: “And she looked upon the cursed babe and said, ‘What monster maketh this?’ To which her lord husband replied, ‘A god is a god’ while smiling at his new son.”

Family is religion. Magick is addiction. Image is power.

The Imperium Solis is shattered. Its planets broken by civil wars. Its people ravaged by hells’ creatures.

Who will rise up to save what’s left? Who will take control?

What gods will be borne of this madness?

⭐ CHAPBOOK FEATURE: Thy Bounty by Andie Ocampo

📖: Who do you live for? Who do you die for? Who do you belong to?

The Earth is gone and only its people are left. Forced into ships that wander through space, humans have turned to cloning for sustenance. Yet despite the seemingly unlimited potential of this technology, people have been struggling more than ever. Starvation, poverty, and corruption—in a world where humans are treated as either assets or liabilities, killing becomes the greatest act of love.

⭐ CHAPBOOK FEATURE: Three Generation Affliction by Ilex Jim Lomboy

📖: Three Generation Affliction contains the stories of Hesus, Jo, and Julio as they navigate life amidst loss. When grief takes the form of a dearly departed, their memories of pain and trauma are put in center stage. These are stories of grief over life, the self, innocence, and the past we cannot change. This is a story of grief across time.

📖: A common comment is how lifeless
their eyes are as idols: I say they’re happy and they smile along
anyway because this isn’t what it means to be the idol manager.

⭐ CHAPBOOK FEATURE: Para Morir by Ana Morales

📖: Para Morir is a collection of essays on music and violence—how the two are measured, performed, and responded to. It explores notions of pain, death, and complicity by scrutinizing what counts as normal. It is a work that reckons with what it means to struggle to be human in a violent world.

⭐ CHAPBOOK FEATURE: Inosente by Andie Ocampo

📖: Innocence is in the eye of the beholder.

The child is the pinnacle of all innocence, and through it we are all called to embody it. To become childlike is to become pure and to become pure is to be worthy of Heaven. We yearn for God and to be worthy of Him, but forget that we were made in a world of sin. When we return to the state of innocence, at what point does purity turn into ignorance?

At what point does that ignorance turn into sin?
