Super thankful to finish in the Top 10 at the 2026 PSB Senior Bowlers’ Open!

It was a struggle to carry and catch good breaks from the start. But Elaine and I always tell the kids we coach, “It’s not how you start—it’s how you finish.”

You never know what can happen, so keep your head down, stay patient, and make your spares. When you do the little things right, good things can happen.

I had dropped out of the Top 10 midway through the finals, but I kept grinding and managed to dig myself out of the hole. Grateful for the comeback and for the reminder to never give up until the final ball is thrown.

Congratulations to the winners!

Congratulations to Uncle Steve Robles, PSB, and the entire Playdium staff for another successful tournament!

As my trip here in Malaysia comes to a close, I can’t help but look back at last year’s tournament. I came here determined to be more prepared, and I truly believe I was. While the final result was only marginally better, I know this year’s journey was very different.

Coming back to competitive bowling has been a long process—relearning the game, improving my ex*****on, understanding modern equipment, and catching up on everything that changed while I was away from the sport. It has been challenging, but also incredibly rewarding.

I spent the past year preparing for this tournament, so now that it’s over, there’s naturally that feeling of, “What happens now?” Thankfully, there are still a few local tournaments ahead, and that’s where my focus will be. Every competition is another opportunity to learn, improve, and continue this journey.

I’m deeply grateful to my wife, Elaine, who tirelessly worked behind the scenes, supported me every step of the way, and took such good care of me throughout this tournament. She truly is my perfect helpmate, and I would not have been able to do this without her.

To my daughter, Tamara, thank you for always praying for Daddy every time I bowl. Knowing that you are praying for me means more than any score or trophy ever could.

I’m also very thankful to my father- and mother-in-law, and to my mom, for their constant support and encouragement throughout this journey. Knowing that my family is behind me gives me even more reason to keep going.

Thank you as well to everyone who encouraged me, supported me, prayed for me, and helped me on this road back to bowling after retirement. I’m grateful for the privilege of competing internationally again.

Above all, I thank the Lord for allowing me to enjoy the sport I love. Every opportunity to step onto the approach and every shot I throw is a blessing from Him. My identity is not found in my scores or finishes, but in His faithfulness.

“The Lord will work out His plans for my life—for Your faithful love, O Lord, endures forever. Don’t abandon me, for You made me.”
Psalm 138:8 NLT

Here’s to the next tournament, the next lesson, and another opportunity to glorify Him. 🇵🇭🎳🙏

This is a difficult update to post.

After qualifying 11th for the finals, I finished 30th overall at the 2026 Megalanes Senior Classic.

I felt I threw the ball well, but the lanes transitioned faster than expected, and I made the wrong ball change at a crucial point. By the time I found the right reaction, I had already lost too many pins.

It hurts after preparing for this tournament for almost a year, but there are no excuses. I’ll learn from it and come back better.

Above all, I thank God for the opportunity, the strength to compete, and the privilege of representing the Philippines.

Congratulations to all the winners and finalists, and thank you to Sunway Megalanes and the organizers for running a wonderful tournament.

To the Philippine contingent, I had so much fun bonding and competing with all of you. Thank you for making this trip memorable both on and off the lanes.

And to everyone who followed, prayed, and supported me throughout the week—thank you. 🇵🇭🎳

Qualifying is officially over! 🇵🇭🎳

Grateful to have finished the three qualifying blocks with a 3342 total (222.8 average), good enough for 2nd place in Squad C and a spot in tomorrow’s finals! 🙏🎳

The best part of these past three days wasn’t just the scores—it was learning the lanes, making the right adjustments, and trusting the process one frame at a time. Every game taught me something that I’ll carry into the finals.

Thank you to everyone who has been praying for me, sending messages, and cheering me on from home. Your encouragement has truly been a blessing.

Tomorrow, the scores reset to zero, so qualifying is behind us. It’s a brand new tournament, and everyone starts with the same opportunity.

Time to rest, prepare, and trust the Lord for what’s ahead.

One more day. One frame at a time. 🇵🇭💪🎳

Day 2 done!

Finished the second 5-game block with 1163, bringing my 10-game total to 2270. Currently sitting 2nd in Squad C. 🙏🎳

I stayed with the Storm Concept for all 10 qualifying games so far. It has matched up really well with the lane conditions here at Sunway, and I’m thankful for how consistent it has been throughout the first two days.

Thankful to God for His grace, wisdom, and steady hand through every frame. There’s still a lot of bowling left, and the focus now is to stay patient, make good decisions, and trust the process.

Thank you to everyone who has been praying for me and cheering me on from home. Your messages and support mean a lot.

One more day. One frame at a time. 💪🎳

UPDATE: currently in 6th place overall after the second day.

Done with Day 1 of the 2026 Megalanes Senior Classic!

Grateful to finish 4th in my squad and 14th overall after the first 5-game block. I ended up throwing my Storm Concept for the entire block, and it matched up really well with the pattern.

There’s still a lot of bowling left, and I’m hoping to make some better moves and climb the standings tomorrow. Thank you to everyone who’s been praying for me and cheering me on. Let’s keep it going! 🎳🙏
