๐ My 7th Camping Experience โ Athena Sanctuary (Kaysakat, Antipolo City)
๐ ACCESSIBILITY
It was my momโs birthday, and sheโs really fond of campsites with rivers, so we planned a trip to Athena Sanctuary. Itโs located in Barangay Kaysakat, Antipolo City , a private campground thatโs exclusive whether youโre just two people or a large group.
Getting there was easy, but once youโre near the campground, it can be a bit of a struggle for cars with low ground clearance. There are uneven and muddy paths (especially since we visited during the Habagat season).
We used three vehicles: an SUV with all-terrain tires, an MPV with radial tires, and a motorcycle. The SUV had no issues going down to the location due to its high clearance. However, the MPV and motorcycle struggled their tires kept slipping.
On the way back, both the SUV and MPV managed to exit the campground with some momentum, but the motorcycle had a hard time climbing back up due to the slippery path.

๐ AREA / LOCATION
A serene place in Antipolo where you can swim and relax at the Boso-Boso River, just a few steps from the campground. Itโs not as wide as other campsites, but it's spacious enough to accommodate 27 pax comfortably and still feel peaceful.
They provide everything you need tents, bedding, cookware, and dinnerware except for plates, blankets, and bedsheets.
The tents are Decathlon Quechua, complete with inflatable pillows and mattresses. Each tent also has a large stand fan. The gazebo comes with a gas range and free mineral water. They even provide a mini cooler, enough for drinks or frozen goods.
What made me choose Athena Sanctuary, even though I just saw their sponsored post on the day i made a reservation, was the all-in package. We usually provide our own tents and gear, but for a group of 17 pax, thatโs a hassle. Here, we got to enjoy tent life with a bonfire and riverside view all we had to bring were our personal essentials.

โ OVERALL EXPERIENCE
The only challenge we faced was the roughly 500-meter path near the campsite but aside from that, everything else was smooth.
The area is quiet. Some locals do their laundry in the river, and there are residents nearby, but you wonโt really notice them. We actually felt a bit shy since we had kids with us who were loudly enjoying the river.
My personal challenge was the "no furbabies allowed" policy. I have mental health struggles, Normally, I cope by hugging or playing with my dogs, caffeine and meds . Not having even one of them there made it harder. Sometimes itโs fine when they are not with me but this past few weeks episodes and attacks keep on coming, Thankfully, there were friendly local dogs in the area and naitulog ko agad ang episode ko. Hindi kaartehan itโs just the way my life is and one day lang naman I just need to follow the rules and Iโm healing myself with the serenity of the place with mother nature.
Why Iโd love to go back: Itโs affordable for an all-in campsite. We were 17 people, and it only cost around โฑ382 per person. The owner, Sir Art, even let our driver stay for free and she enjoyed it too! They also gave us a whole fresh chicken and some freebies! The caretaker was so nice and attentive we make sure to share our food to them and to their pet dogs. Even Sir Art, the owner is not physically available in the area He makes sure that we are being attended properly thru chats.

Athena Sanctuary is a must-visit campsite in Kaysakat. Our stay was affordable, peaceful, and totally refreshing. My mom and friends really enjoyed the celebration, and weโll definitely be back! ๐
