September 27, 2025โThe second day of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP) three-day camp (September 26โ28) placed the spotlight on survival skills and teamwork as young scouts underwent a series of practical challenges and fun-filled games.
The afternoon kicked off with an orientation on water purification. The orientation aims to teach the scouts how to make water safe for drinking in survival situations.
Following the orientation, scouts were put to the test with a set of obstacle challenges. They first crawled through a muddy trail to reach the finish line. The excitement continued with the monkey bridge task, where scouts carefully crossed a rope bridge tied between two sturdy trees.
According to Sir James Darwin B. Bundal, Activity Officer, the obstacles were designed to toughen the young scouts and help them learn to face challenges rather than avoiding them. Sir James further emphasized that after overcoming these tasks, โMagkakaroon ka ng confidence sa sarili mo.โ
The day wrapped up with fun-filled scout games. The first game was a modified sack race where scouts wore sacks over their upper bodies and relied on their senior scouts to guide them along the right path.
Another exciting game, โpiring-piringan,โ tested both agility and alertness. Scouts wore blindfolds, spun around five times, and then tried to tag their fellow scouts.
With those activities, the second day was a success filled with useful learning, physical challenges, and games that strengthened individual confidence. The event now moves into its final day on September 28.
