BOTOLAN, Zambales -- The Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP) officially opens the 33rd Asia-Pacific Regional Scout Jamboree (APRSJ) in a ceremony at Camp Zambales in Barangay San Juan, Botolan, Zambales on Monday (December 15).
The event is one of the largest outdoor educational Scouting events in the Asia-Pacific region and has the theme "Be Prepared: Scouts for Peace and Sustainable Development."
This year’s jamboree highlights the vital role of scouting in shaping responsible, service-oriented and environmentally conscious citizens, in line with the Philippine Development Plan 2023–2028 and the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals.
Scheduled from December 14 to 21, the week-long event hosted by the Boy Scouts of the Philippines brings together over 23,000 participants from Asia-Pacific and countries around the world, providing opportunities to camp outdoors, participate in structured and meaningful activities, and forge lasting friendships among scouts from diverse cultures.
It also promotes leadership development, cultural exchange and environmental awareness, helping mold young people into responsible global citizens.
As the largest non-formal youth educational organization in the country with over 3.5 million members, the Boy Scouts of the Philippines remains committed to empowering young people to become active citizens and future leaders through programs that develop character, responsibility and positive social change, making Scouting a truly transformative experience.
