CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS!

Gunita, the official literary and visual arts folio of UST-Legazpi Senior High School, is now accepting entries for our second release. This year, our theme is:

⭐️SOLUS⭐️

(n.) a Latin word that means alone or by oneself; “separate from any other”

You can write or sketch your quarantine experience – differ solitude from isolation. Recreate the exact moment you realized you had to leave your childhood behind, suppose it’s your first day in a university and you don’t know who to approach and where to go, or think about going home alone at night after a restless day.

Interpret the theme however you’d like through your own prose, poetry, art, or photography and have your works be featured in our folio or on Gunita page. This is open to everyone – alumni, teachers and staff, students from all departments, and non-Legazpi Thomasians! However, only the works of current students and teachers in the UST-L SHS can be published in the folio. The rest will be on Gunita page.

GUIDELINES:
1. Written works may be in English or Filipino and can be in the form of short stories, literary essays, poems, tanaga, and screenplays. You may submit up to three (3) written works and must be in .DOCX format. All entries must have a title.
2. Visual arts in the form of digital art, sketches, painting, or drawing and photographs such as portraits, still-life, landscapes, and photo manipulation are also accepted. You may submit up to five (5) works with 300 dpi resolution and must be in .JPG / .PNG / .IMG extensions format (without watermarks).

To submit, send your works including your name or alias and section to [email protected] with “Gunita Solus Submission” as the subject. For alumni, indicate your year of graduation and a bionote. For teachers and staff, include the position you are currently holding, and for non-Legazpi Thomasians, indicate your school name.

The start of submission will be on April 5 until May 5, 2020.

An account written on December 2, 2019 at 9:13 PM, as tropical cyclone swept across Philippine soil.

Isinulat ni JORIMAE QUEEN MAULEON, 11-Bl. Bojani

Pa’no na?
