Fireflies donβt just glow for beauty; they light up the dark in bursts of courage and signal their presence when silence blankets the night. In many ways, campus journalists are much like those fireflies, small, flickering lights navigating the dense woods of school corridors, student concerns, and societal change. As the Philippines marks National Campus Press Freedom Day every July 25, it becomes imperative to recognize these young writers as more than requirement-fillers or contest participants. They are storytellers, watchdogs, and catalysts of informed discourse within and beyond the classroom.
