His life reminds us that no heart is too far for God to reach, no past too broken for grace to heal. Augustine’s famous words still echo today: “Our hearts are restless until they rest in You, O Lord.” May his journey from wandering to wisdom inspire us to seek our true rest in God alone.

From restless searching to eternal rest in God, Saint Augustine reminds us that true peace is found only in Him.

As we honor our national heroes today, we also remember the saints of the Church—heroes of faith and models of holiness—who gave their lives for a greater cause. Both remind us that true heroism is rooted in love: love for God, love for country, and love for neighbor. May their courage inspire us to live with faith, sacrifice, and integrity in our daily lives.

Today, we honor Mary, Queen of Heaven and Earth. Her queenship is not one of earthly power, but of humble service and perfect obedience to God's will. Through her "yes," she became the mother of the King and our own powerful advocate. Let us honor our Queen by following her example of faith and love.

As we celebrate the Solemnity of the Assumption of Mary, never forget the core message of this event in our Catholic faith: that Mary’s assumption to heaven is both a sign of God’s victory over sin and death, and a promise of the glory that awaits all who remain faithful to Christ.

The Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary was already being celebrated on 15 August in the 5th century. It bore the sense of Our Lady’s “Birth into heaven”, or in the Byzantine tradition, her “Dormition”. The feast began to celebrate in Rome in the middle of the 7th century. It was not until 1 November 1950, that Pope Pius XII proclaimed the Dogma of Mary’s assumption body and soul into heaven.

The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary is a reminder that our earthly journey is not the end, but the beginning of eternal life with God. As she was taken body and soul into Heaven, she shows us the destiny promised to all who live in grace.

Saint Lawrence, deacon and martyr, showed the world that the true treasures of the Church are not gold or silver, but the poor, the sick, and the marginalized. May we also learn to value what heaven treasures most.

As founder of the Order of Preachers, Saint Dominic de Guzman reminds us that true holiness is rooted in prayer, study, and service. Through his love for the Word of God and his mission of preaching, he brought many souls to Christ. May we, too, become lights in the world by living in truth and love.
